3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a cloudy amber with a huge head of light tan foam. Lots of effervescence. Nose is malty with a whiff of hops. Very creamy on the palate. First flavor is malt with some bread and yeast flavors. Hop taste follows for a medium dry finish. A likeable beer that pairs well with brats or burgers off the grill.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: FEB 17, 2014 Bottle to shaker. Certainty not what I was expecting from the description, although to be fair i wasn?t sure what to expect. Copper orange pour. Creamy head. Clean and clear. Typical American amber profile with just a bit more bitterness. Nice.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The Victorian getup on the sheep, the word "Kent" in the title and amber ale underneath made me expecting some form of ESB or ordinary bitter. Oddly, it tastes pretty much like an American amber and the brewery claims it’s some sort of twist on a Belgian ale. It is actually not bad tasting at all but I do find many things to be quite strange about how this beer was presented. Oh well, I am here to drink it, not analyze it... Or, more accurately, I am here to analyze it so here we go. It’s a very cloudy amber color w/ a thin head and a decent amount of lace. The nose is subdued spice and a general ale-like fruitiness. Definitely, there is some yeastiness going on here but it is not nearly as pungent as I’d expect from a Belgian. Flavor is a bit sweet w/o quite being cloying w/ a good amount of caramel and toffee notes as well. I do find to be a bit sticky for a lighter beer but that really isn’t the end of the world in this case. I am not sure what style I would call this if it was presented to me in a glass w/ no description. It is an OK beer though so I can get behind it.

Bottle @ Richard’s Tasting. Light amber colored beer with a white head. Banana, apple, and some tart berries on the nose. Bread, toast, and a bit of popcorn. Tastes mostly just sweet and malty and grainy. Some popcorn, bread, and a touch of toast. Soap, some banana, and a bit of apple sauce. Weird.

Real nice. More like a Belgian. Rye really comes through. Generally not much a fan of ambers but this guy’s a bit different.

This one poured out as an opaque amber color with a short lived head. The malt had a bready-nutty thing going on, due to the rye. The hops were of an herbal nature to counter the malt package. Not my favorite, but adequate as a session brew.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Mid amber color. Thin white head. Light aroma, citrus. Taste is light malt, some fruit, and orange rind. The taste is not well defined, very heavy on that rind flavor. Bitter finish. May have been served too cold from the tap.

Bottle. Amber color. Straight from bottle tailgating. Seemed really fruity and sweet which was a little to overwhelming after a while.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Hazy redish orange with a tan head. Fruity and stale aroma. Great at first and then a plasticky unpleasant aftertaste.
