2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
11/07/2015: 3 Stars Citra & Lemon Peel Saison... Thoroughly dull and grossly over-priced; cloudy golden-bronze color, malty, but not much Belgian spiciness or citrus at all; average at best and definitely not worth $8/snifter. Draught at Founding Farmers in Washington DC.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can. Pours a slightly hazy gold body with a one finger fizzy white head that left a bit of sticky lace. The nose is a great mix of delicate citrusy hops and a sharp lemon rind zestiness along with pale malt and wheat. The flavor is fairly light and delicate up front, and the heavy lemon and citrusy hoppiness really break out on the back end. This is really refreshing and juicy, the lemon peel is bright and zesty, it reminds me of a nice cocktail with a lemon rind garnish. Light bodied with a nice lively active fizzy carbonation. Pretty good stuff, I’d drink this with regularity.

Many thanks to this can from Travlr! Fresh lemon-nose. Smooth. The beer starts smooth and soft. Not much like a saison, more like a Pale Ale. Very dry, only subtle hints of sourness. The lemon-peel is there, fresh and fruity lemon-sourness on a malty body. I miss the Saison-yeast. Sessionable and easy to drink, probably a bit thin.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
1 pint can. "DC’s finest" 06/23/15. Mine says 5.2% ABV. A hazy amber pour with a thick off-white head. The aroma features some white pepper, dried apricots, tangerines, grapefruits, zesty citrus rinds, lemongrass, and pine. Goes down thin and crisp. Sweet grains start things off taste-wise. Lemon/lime follows. Herbal and grassy. Lemongrass and some pepper here and there. Kinda yeasty throughout. Meh.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Big can in a taster glass. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of light lemon, pale malts, light hops, and some clean Belgian saison yeast. Flavor the same with a nice blend. Average texture. Not bad at all - basically just a saison with some lemon but it works really well.

The Travlr tasting at ChrisO’s. Thanks to Gene for all the beers and Chris for hosting. Lightly hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is very light and has a fine crispness. Floral lemon, mildly bitter. Touch of sherbet. Light semi dry finish brings a savoury note. Citric bitter linger.
