UPDATED: JUN 9, 2016 Not a ton on the nose...some farm and hops but not much. Almost a bit soapy...some hops and wheatiness and a bit chewy but refreshing. Good overall but not a favorite.

Pounder can. Slightly hazy golden in glass with a tight bright white head. Thinner lines of lacing left behind. Nose of yeast funk. Yum. Upfront yeasty lemon. Body comes later... near finish, for a quick peak before succumbing to gravity and my gullet. Rounded yeast and spice tone for finish. Last of the MD haul...

A likable, tart, refreshing beer. Good tall white head and a great effervescent amount of carbonation. Lemon, peach, apple and grape. Nice bitterness and a quenching finish.

Can to tulip. Cloudy straw yellow. Lemony wheat nose. Palate is sweet yummy citrus barnyard. Great summer celebration beer. Right on!

Cans at some bar in Dupont Circle, albeit poured into a 3 stars snifter. Gotta earn that $8.50 somehow.

Hazy gold pour, nice white head. Massive citra nose, plenty of lemon. This is a hop-dominated beer rather than a traditional saison, but it works. Itís got to be the best DC beer Iíve ever had, and I was good for two on a night when I thought all I wanted to do on 5 hoursí sleep was go back to the hotel and crawl into bed. This snobby, perhaps, but intended as praise: Iíd happily drink it at a beer bar in Seattle.

Nice orange and lemon aroma. Flavor starts off rustic citrus but finished very grainy/malty, especially for the style. 9 day old can. Nice enough and unique, but misses the style by a wideish margin.

Pours a hazy golden color with foamy white head. Notes of lemons, fresh air, orange citrus, and honey. Nice

appearance: cloudy gold, foamy white head, minimal lacing. aroma: lots of bright citrus (lemon of course, but maybe some tangerine?), slight crackery malts, a bit of pepper, maybe green apple. taste: crackery, with pepper, grass, lemon zest, maybe a bit of pineapple and clove. finish: a bit of belgian yeasty spice comes out here, along with lingering citrus notes that dry things out. notes: Not a bad saison at all, but it didnít really stand out. Reminded me a bit of Brooklynís Sorachi Ace, but not as good.

11/07/2015: 3 Stars Citra & Lemon Peel Saison... Thoroughly dull and grossly over-priced; cloudy golden-bronze color, malty, but not much Belgian spiciness or citrus at all; average at best and definitely not worth $8/snifter. Draught at Founding Farmers in Washington DC.
