Tap @ Tusky’s - pours pitch with a tan head that vanishes as it warms. Love the coffee beef jerky sweetness happening with this one. Has a nice smoothness to the finish. Nice!

Draft at Tuscarora mill. Pours black with a half inch of khaki foam. Doesn't leave much lacing in the glass. Lots of chocolate on the nose. Nice roasted malt on the nose with a touch of sweetness balanced by some nice hop presence. Hides it's booze well. Nice! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours pitch black with aromas of roasty malt and chocolate. Flavor is more of the same, very rich and sweet. Mouthfeel is silky. Sweetness hides the alcohol well.

[7203-20150501] 1pt9.4floz bottle. Roasted wood chips and fruity roasted nuts aroma. Black body with a quick foamy tan head. Fruity wooden roasted bread flavour. Medium body. Seems almost infected? (7/3/5/3/12) 3.0

Poured from a 1 pint 9.4 fl oz bottle. This is one darn good beer. Appearance is black, pure black. Aroma is roasted malts and coffee, and lots of chocolate. Taste is similar, with some slight hints of alcohol. Palate is medium, not too thick. Overall, a really nice beer, very drinkable, right up my type of beer.

Near black body with a thin ring of beige head. Aromas of charred malt, roast, smoke. Sweet malt with medium alcohol presence. Perhaps an over abundance of burnt / charred malt. Low carbonation with notes of melted chocolates and booze. Decent in small quantities. Could use a few tweaks.

2015-05-01. Black body with a small tan head. 3+ Dusty roasty aroma, sort of tangy quality to it. Flavour is similar dry bitter roast. Touches of cocoa. Tangier than expected. Average body, effervescent carbonation. Okay. I suspect more sour and tangy than intended. Bottle from Trader Joe’s, Washington DC.

Lots of hops on a porter, and a good full palate feel as well. Long and rich finish getting more and more malty as you drink it.

Deep cola-brown beer with a dark beige head that subsides quickly with an audible crackle. Rich nose of semi-sweet chocolate, balsamic vinegar, and soy sauce. Flavor follows the nose with some coffee and quite a bit more malty sweetness. This all ends with a slight bitterness. There’s quite a bit going on here; I just wish more of the roast followed through to the finish to counterbalance the sweetness. Still, a pretty good porter.
