Had on draft at ACBF as Peppercorn Saison. Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with creamy white head. Nose is fruity with slight peppery notes. Taste a touch on the sweet side. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Quite tasty! I think this beer has been underrated.

Norms Beer and Wine, Vienna Virginia 750ml: Pours hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is farmhouse funk, plenty of spice, hints of pepper... all around very saisonesque. Taste is very spicy. The peppercorns add a little bit, but not as much as some other beers in this style. A little bit of sweetness. A spicy aftertaste this has. Not bad. I think the aroma is better than the taste.

It smells great with lots of spice and yeast notes. Taste is a little disappointing as the peppercorn does not really shine through like you might want. Still, it has plenty of sweet, yeast, spice and bread like character. Finish is light and crisp. It’s not quite as carbonated as more traditional recipes like Dupont for example.Overall, drop the peppercorn and call it saison.

Bottle. Golden, hazy, small to average and fully diminishing head. Moderate malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish aroma, light fruitiness and faint sourness, light spiciness (pepper, coriander), faint barnyard and light citrus hoppyness. Body is light to medium malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish flavor, faint caramel and light fruitiness with faint spiciness, light cirus hoppyness. Finish is short to average, malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish, faint fruitiness and sourness, faint spiciness and light citrus hoppyness. Bit thin - could be drier.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2015 Slightly hazy ruby-tinted copper and bronze coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of yeast, grass, hay, wort, light alcohol and a fruity sweetness - like apples and pears, all with a good pepper note. Medium-bodied; Strong grassy and herbal note throughout with a solid dry character and a herbal finish with a touch of pepper and sugars, all with some alcohol burn on the tail end. Aftertaste shows a rich dry and oaky characteristic with some more deep assertive notes at the end with the yeast coming out the strongest. Overall, a nice saison with a very dry quality and a bit of light sugars to coax out the pepper notes. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (P Street, Logan Circle), DC on 05-January-2015 for US$8,99 sampled at home in Washington on 19-February-2015.

Nice peppercorn accents, adds a lot to the saison body. Lots of savory notes, compliment the buttery body

750 bottle, as Peppercorn Saison. Yeasty nose, minerally, biscuits, oranges and stone fruits, pepper. Glowing orange, cloudy, with lace. Very estery flavor, heavy malts, biscuits, wheat, clove. The pepper almost cuts through the big estery malts but cannot. Tasty as such, rather weizen like, not at all what I want in a saison, though, too sweet and heavy.
