murky gold, thin white large bubbled ring. heavy butter nose whacks with diacetyl, light dough, peppery with citrus hints. Flavor is Belgian yeast, peppery and creamy wheat with light lemon zest, pepper mid, sweet lightly buttery finish but not near nose level, tolerable and desert like in soft, sticky end, quick finish with vegetal accents.

13-MAY-2014, draft @Pizzaria Paradiso, Georgetown as Peppercorn Saison. Almost clear golden with low white head. Aroma is sweet fruity and yeasty. Taste the same. Is there a trace of pepper? More malty than yeasty. Thin body, soft carbonation. A disappointing saison.

Comes together surprisingly well - not sure why this rates so low. Nice bubblegum aroma with some hay and funk. Good head and lacing. Finishes with some sweetness and sourness. On tap at DC Beer Festival.

A disappointing saison. Dry and citrusy, but with stale, watery aftertaste. Tried at the Drink the District President’s Day event in DC in 2014.

On tap at RedRocks (DC). Mild green peppercorn fruity-spicy aroma, light yeast and wheat. Semi-sweet pilsner malt notes, floral. Golden amber hazy with thin lacing off-white head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Starts with pilsner malt sweetness, nice hoppy bitter character and light peppercorn spicy-sweetness. Lemon peel and citrus, with sweet-to-dry finish. Nice after and a pretty good saison.

Pretty standard saison with good yeast esthers and taste. This is the basic batch. The others get a little different.

4oz sample at Churchkey’s 3 Stars 1st Anniversary event. Cask pours a hazy gold with one ring of white head. Nose is sweet, peppery, soap, flowers, honey. Flavor is kind of the same, sweet, vegetal, peppery, flower petals, honey. Clean, peppery finish. Simple.

3/28/13. Sampled during CBC 2013. Orange pour with a small khaki head. A bit of pepper, spice, light funk, and fruitiness in the aroma. Cheerio flavor, malty, doughy, some fruit and spice. Not bad.
