Sampled in Milan, at the Beer of The Year Awards. Amber colour, with rich head. Sweetish aroma with slight toasty notes as well as chocolate. Very malty and caramelly with licoricy ending. Bitterness seems high, I’d guess 40 IBU or similar.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2008 2008-05-30, blind tasting at Yespr’s, 7-3-6-3-13=32
Muddy amber color, creamy head. The aroma is quite perfumy, with honey and caramel and nuts; the caramel flavor is quite dry; it has a good body strength; what the yeast made good for the aroma, didn’t work for the flavor, a bit too harsh. Quite strong bitterness and high alcohol perception.

Beautiful red-amber color; thick head. Aroma of sugars, herbal hops, chocolate. Medium body, caramel with enough roasted malt and medium malt acidity and chocolate.
