One of the most interesting beer in the last years.. It’s very good with cheese and with its complex spicy and great aromatic structure it could be used, as the official drink, in place of a great wine, for a 5 star meat or fish menu, with truffles, fois gras and venison or with smoked salmon and sushi. It’s the new trappist style, corrected and reviewed, in a spicy, but always natural way. Along side with Le Baladin Wayan it’s the greatest flavour of italian Brewery and one of the best in Europe.

Bottle at DOC Melbourne. Great yeasty beer, well balanced. Aromas of caramel, honey, citrus, bread. Taste is sweet, sour, and bitter; well balanced, and very long. Palate is creamy, full bodied. Yellow, cloudy, with a frothy head.

Pours hazy gold with a fading head. Nose shows banana, soft cinnamon, caramel, bready malt, doughy yeast. Enticing. Flavours focus on the malt - caramel, bready malt, doughy yeast, banana. Also some booze. A bit too much carbonation.

3fourths (6932) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 18, 2009
train station bottle rating. dense and cloudy dark honey colored body with a salt and pepper speckled tan head. bottle-conditioned, fine-bubbled carbonation. nose is powdery citrus, minerally silt/clay and oil-covered candy sugar along with some dried herb character. frothy and dense texture - chewy with an oily finish. zesty hops and syrupy sugar meld with an herbal spiced character (just yeast or added? not sure). weighty and dense malt, spice level is perfect for the density of this beer and the yeast is lovingly soft while still appearing zesty and spicy (lemon, anise, coriander). another inventive and creative italian take on a belgian-style. great stuff.

Bottle shared by the Kernel crew - cheers guys! Light haze on this gold beer. Little white head. Light palate, a little soft. Fine carbonation. A little brandy like alcohol but overall well hidden. Tiny bit of orange hop. Semi dry finish. Mild minerals.
