750 ml bottle. An unclear light amber beer with an initially huge, then collapsing white head. The aroma is malty, a bit spicy with many fruity notes (orange, peach and banana). Some light hop notes. The flavour is sweet, malty, with spicy and fruity hints. A hop touch in the finish. Medium to full body , lively carbonation, medium/long finish with medium bitetrness. Enough interesting and drinkable Belgian style beer brewed in Italy, though not complex as the best example of the style.

Bottle 75cl @ [ Mafioso Blind Tasting @ yespr, Bottle #05.]
Unclear light to medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lancing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, fruity, spicy, moderate yeasty, banana notes. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. (300508)

My Bottom Line:
Honeyed orange peel and peachy esters converse in a balanced and cohesive flavor profile until doughy yeast and softspoken peppery, herbal hops add a touch of complexity. This is another authentic Belgian-style Strong Ale from Via dei Birrai.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam recedes to a ring atop the cloudy dull golden.
-This is Unibroue-like in its shape and design, but it’s not quite as impressive as the top tier of its Belgian-style family.
-Light alcohol warmth is present throughout.
-Honeyed sweetness and fruit (peaches, pears) linger nicely in the finish.
-The flavor profile is a tad more expressive than the aroma.
-A slick body is sculpted by an oily palate and prickly, smooth carbonation.

Bottle; best before November 2008.

Blind tasting @ Yespr. Hazy, golden with a grey hue. The aroma has sweetness and notes of fruit and candy sugar. The flavour has sweetness, notes of malt, candy sugar, light fruit and yeast. The overall impression is too sweet.

Bottle #5: 75 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a lacing white head. Solid spiced aroma. Fizzy mouthfeel. Flavour is medium dry and spiced, minor berry note. Bitter and dry finish with more spice notes.
