3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared 12 oz. can poured to snifters, showing a clear, mahogany brown color, with a presentable layer of brownish tan head foam, and spots & streaks of lacing. The nose was roasted, with mocha notes, and caramel & toffee sweetness. A little less than medium bodied, with soft carbonation, the taste added just a hint of smoke/char, and moderate, earthy bitterness that partnered with some dryness for the finish. Decent basic flavor notes similar to the aromaís, maybe a bit light in texture, but then, itís a Brown Ale, not a Stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz can purchased at Lukas Liquors in Martin City, Missouri. The pour is a dark brown, hazed, with an off white head that was fizzy and falls quick. The aroma is roasted malt, nutty, some softly sweet cracker and the oatmeal that is toasted and clean. The taste is the roast, oatmeal, earthy faint nutty sweet and a gentle mineral in the back. Nice melding of flavors. The palate is medium bodied with active carbonation, and a silky finish with the oatmeal. Easy drinking brown, my kind of beer.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap, poured into a shaker. The aromas are a blend of oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips, cookie batter, coffee, and a dark, woody spiciness (cloves come to mind). It pours a clear, oily red-brown with just a thin tan ring retained and no lace. The taste is medium sweet and bitter. The beer is somewhere in between watery and oily with a fuzzy carbonation. The medium body starts sweet with chocolate and oatmeal cookie notes, then finishes with a dry clove and coffee finish (as well as maybe a touch of ash) that lingers lightly and feels clean on the palate.

Classic brown ale oatmeal smell. A little metallic. Taste: wow! Bread, nuts, semisweet chocolate, slight bitterness. Lively carb. Tasty stuff; one of the top brown ales Iíve had for sure.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This pours (from a can) a dark chestnut body with a tan film in lieu of a head. Itís got a light aroma, faint chocolate scents, grain, maybe some oatmeal. The flavor is more chocolatey, has some cookie dough, and has traces of oatmeal. Certainly it has the oaty smootyhness. Okay, but just not a drink that excites me.
