3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bottled received from my in-laws as a Christmas gift. The pour is a clear dark brown with a well formed tan head. Nice lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is chocolate, cocoa powder, sweet malt along with a bit of roast. The taste is semi-sweet cocoa, nice gentle caramel roast malt, and finishes with more of the soft cocoa. The palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation, finish is the cocoa sweet and a bit of lingering bitterness. Nice execution of the concept, a much appreciated gift.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep black pour with a frothy, light tan head. The aroma reminds me of nesquick along with some darker chocolate. It has a medium body with average carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with a dry, roasted finish.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a solid black with a short tan head and some lacing. The aroma is like milk chocolate and some dark malt. The flavor is cocoa and dark malt with a bitter, dark chocolate finish over a smooth mouthfeel and a medium body.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear brown with minimal head and lacing. Aroma has light coffee, lactose and cocoa. Taste of brewed coffee with cream from lactose, roasted flavor with mild bitterness and a little cocoa. Finishes with mild bitterness and light taste of lactose. Mouthfeel was watery with a light body with a medium high crisp carbonation. I'm not a fan of the lactose flavor which reminds me of soured milk in this beer. Mouthfeel was too light and carbonation was too high with not enough chocolate flavor.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle... Dark brown pour with a small, creamy, lightly-tanned head. Decent retention. The aroma furnishes a malty swirl of milk chocolate and toasted macadamia nuts. Medium to full-bodied with tingly carbonation. Nice, roasty, bittersweet flavor followed by a bitter, dark-chocolate finish. Bottle courtesy of landhoney!

Pours dark with a tan head. Notes of chocolate and malt. First taste is sweet then coffee bitterness. Very good beer if you like sweet stouts.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2014 1st rating 12/13/2013: Definitely not my favorite milk stout, but a good beer just because it IS a chocolate milk stout nonetheless! Lots of carbonation- wish it was smoother and more like real chocolate milk in the mouthfeel. Not a full enough body to call it a stout...just a porter here.
2nd rating 10/20/2014: I agree with my previous rating that this is more of porter and not quite a stout. Slightly bitter/sour but overall great flavors of deep cocoa. Good job not letting coffee override this one as it tends to do in so many dark stouts/porters.
