Bottle from Friar Tuck. Black with great lacing. Smells pleasantly of chocolate but it doesnít come through in the flavor as much as you would think. It could be a bit sweeter when I compare it to otherís in this style. Unlike 4handís other beers, it seems as though they took the safe way out of this one.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours an opaque black with 2 finger foamy tan head leaving mild lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate with hint of espresso and roasted malt. Hint of herbal hops. Mildly bitter throughout with a touch of sweet at the end. Long bitter finish. Full bodied, moderately carbonated. Sticky palate. Good overall beer. Surprised the average rating on this one is so low.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
It poured a deep black color with a small white head. The aroma was of chocolate, coffee and slightly sweet. It was a medium bodied sweet stout. The malts are roasty, chocolatey and some coffee. There was a touch of vanilla. This stout was mostly roasty malts and semi-sweet chocolate flavors. The finish was clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. Very well done.

Not as creamy as I was hoping, but still a very nice stout. Super smooth, toasted malt/coffee flavor more than chocolate. Extremely short finish- slightly hoppy, this is where I get the most chocolate. This beer sits very light for a stout. I could drink a few in a night if they werenít $6 per bottle.
If you let this beer warm up to just below room temperature, it has a much better chocolate taste and a slightly longer chocolate finish. This is definitely how this beer was meant to be consumed. I upped my score to reflect this

Pours a jet black with very little head; predominant cocoa and coffee aromas; medium carbonation; intense roasted malt flavors, producing a potent coffee tasteóso strong that if I didnít know better, Iíd think this was a cocoa coffee stout. A very pleasant beer for sipping. I can only imagine how incredible this would be with a piece of chocolate cake with fudge icing, or a slice of dark chocolate cheesecake.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2013 January 15, 2013 on tap at brewery. Very dark pour with a nice puffy head that just kept going and going. Very nice lacing as well that coated the glass. This smells like a chocolate milk mixed with a chocolate shake. I canít really say the taste is any different. If you like chocolate this is for you. Glad I picked up a bottle of this.
Had via bottle at Skyviews and it was not quite the same beer. Lowering my scores a bit due to that.

Had this at 4 Hands. This was full of chocolate in both the aroma and flavor. It was not as "milky" as expected and was thinner. Some hops brought mild bitterness and some fruitiness. Roast begins the flavor and does not detract from the chocolate. This was quite nice.

Tap @ 4 Hands Anniversary Party. Pours a black appearance with a creamy tan head. Very rich chocolate bar, sweet malty, slightly milky, light coffee aroma. Creamy, rich chocolate flavor thatís very easy to drink. I wish I had more time to get a couple more.
