Appearance is jet black with a creamy thick tan foam cap. Aroma is definitely chocolate milk and some deep roasted malt. Taste is coffee, dark chocolate, and vanilla, with a slight smoky/woody character. Mouthfeel is medium to thick with a nice creaminess. Finishes with a slightly bitter roasted chocolate on the tongue

Were it not for the name of this stuff, I don’t think I would pin this as either a chocolate or a milk stout. That, to me, goes a long way towards showing the subtlety w/ which the adjuncts were used in this. It is a beautiful black beer w/ a creamy, long-lasting head. Fresh ground coffee and cocoa dominate the nose. It is pretty mild just smelling it but just explodes w/ flavor when you taste it. It is dry on initial impression but moves towards slight sweetness as it finishes which highlights the creamy texture and the abundant chocolate flavor. This is highly drinkable and highly flavorful stout of gravity moderate enough that it is not a big deal to drink a full bomber of it. I would definitely recommend this to stout fans everywhere.

Black color. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, burnt bread, coffee candies. Quite dry mouthfeel; roasted malt with a milk and lactose presence; it tastes too much like cheap chocolate bar; balanced, mellow finish.
Nice, but not too much.

Draft - Coffee and chocolate with a nice creamy malt. Jet brown with a rich brown head. Nice and chocolaty with a light bitterness. Very light on the palate but still nice.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out loads of cocoa nibs, lactose, and dark chocolate. Flavour is similar, bringing out many layers of chocolate, especially dark chocolate and cocoa nibs, with a touch of lactose, but this is mostly dark chocolate. Smooth and fairly light for a stout. Highly drinkable. Great stuff.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown, almost black, body with a small fizzy light brown head. The nose is intensely chocolaty and sweet, this might be the heaviest beer I’ve had as far as the chocolate goes. The sweet milk chocolate works perfectly with the light lactose sweetness and the gentle roastiness. The flavor is a bit thin perhaps, but it’s pretty decent. Not quite as decadent on the chocolate as I was hoping for based on the aroma, but there’s a decent cocoa note there. The slight lactose sweetness works well through, especially on the finish where it mixes with the roasted malt. Lighter bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a lingering finish. Pretty decent stuff. I could go for a touch more body, but otherwise, it’s enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours deep ruby black with a medium creamy brown head and nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is lactose sugars, roasted malts, cofee, cocoa. Flavor is cocoa - a bit artificial tasting, roasty, lactose. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, lingering bitterness. Good.

Kind of like a dessert. Aromas of chocolate and roasted malts. Dark chocolate color and creamy looking. Smooth and feels like a sweet stout. Flavors of chocolate and dark malts with not much sweetness. Balancing hops helped even it out. OK but a little light.
