Dark pour with creamy head. Sweet aroma. Sweet velvety taste with a hint of chocolate. Not overpowering. Smooth finish. Light feel for a stout. Quite tasty.

The aroma smells like milk chocolate, roasted malts, and vanilla, and the appearance fuses an opaque black with a medium sized tan head. The taste is quite sweet, a touch bitter, and slightly umami; also, the palate combines a medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, and a long chocolaty finish.

Had this at 4 Hands Brewery, straight from the tap in a Nonic Pint Glass. Aroma: The aroma was right on the money for me. Strong Chocolate Milk notes, comparable to Choklat from Southern Tier. A hint of toasted oats. Appearance: Dark black with a decent head. Good Lacing. Just a nice beer to look at. Taste: Chocolate and Lactose at the forefront, just as the name advertises. Toasty and Raisin notes come later. Not as good as other Chocolate Stouts I’ve had, but certainly up there. Palate: Soapy and Somewhat thick, like Chocolate Milk. Slightly creamy. Overall: As my first beer from 4hands, I look forward to tasting their other offerings.

Yum! Black pour from 22oz bottle. Creamy milky choclate cocoa heaven. As advertised. Doesn't let you down at all. Love it

Really enjoyed the heavy aroma of chocolate and light coffee. Dark in color. It has a medium to heavy taste of sweet and light bitter. Very pleasant to the palate. The only knock is that is just to thin in body. Was hopping for a Guinness type of finish. With a full body it would be near a 5.

Pretty excited for this one. Bomber poured into a pint glass for this go around. Bottle dated 2/19/14. The beer is dark. Black with a dark tan head that laces the top and leaves decent lacing. Very nice looking beer. Aroma is roasted barley, and sweet chocolate and coffee. It almost smells like an iced mocha. Really outstanding for the style. Flavor is sweet and milky up front. It has tons of dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and bold coffee flavors. The roasted barley is evident as well. The beer is very easy to drink, even more so as it warms. It coats your mouth well, and maybe the only complaint would be that it leaves a bit of a sour aftertaste once it settles it. Nothing that another sip can’t fix though! Overall this beer is awesome. I think it might even be better than Left Hand. Go out and get it.

22 oz. bottle. It pours a very dark brown color with a nice tan head. The aroma is intensely chocolaty with lactose and hints of vanilla. Roasted malt is fairly strong in the background. Smells dessert-like and delicious. The flavor is creamy and chocolaty with lots of strong, dirty roasted malt and hints of menthol, floral hops. Mild acidity and more chocolate and ashy roast in the finish. I love this beer since it delivers on everything it advertises from the label to the name… no off flavors and supremely satisfying.

Were it not for the name of this stuff, I don’t think I would pin this as either a chocolate or a milk stout. That, to me, goes a long way towards showing the subtlety w/ which the adjuncts were used in this. It is a beautiful black beer w/ a creamy, long-lasting head. Fresh ground coffee and cocoa dominate the nose. It is pretty mild just smelling it but just explodes w/ flavor when you taste it. It is dry on initial impression but moves towards slight sweetness as it finishes which highlights the creamy texture and the abundant chocolate flavor. This is highly drinkable and highly flavorful stout of gravity moderate enough that it is not a big deal to drink a full bomber of it. I would definitely recommend this to stout fans everywhere.

Draft at brewpub. Pour is near black with a thin light brown head. Aroma is loaded with semisweet chocolate, light roasted malt, and a faint mineral note. Flavor is huge chocolate up front with notes of roasty malt and coffe following. Plenty of chocolate but not overwhelming. I liked this. Gets a lot of flavor and mileage out of 5.5%. Well done.

This was from oa 22 oz bottle courtesy of my St. Louis area trading partner Strykzone. Poured a dark brown, with and huge tan head and good lacing. The nose if roasted malts but mostly it is chocolate. The body is medium and the mouthfeel is carbonated and smooth. Flavor is very rich in the chocolate. The finish shows some roasted malt but the chocolate continues to dominate. Very well done and great drinking.
