The aroma smells like milk chocolate, roasted malts, and vanilla, and the appearance fuses an opaque black with a medium sized tan head. The taste is quite sweet, a touch bitter, and slightly umami; also, the palate combines a medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, and a long chocolaty finish.

Draft at brewpub. Pour is near black with a thin light brown head. Aroma is loaded with semisweet chocolate, light roasted malt, and a faint mineral note. Flavor is huge chocolate up front with notes of roasty malt and coffe following. Plenty of chocolate but not overwhelming. I liked this. Gets a lot of flavor and mileage out of 5.5%. Well done.

Tap @ 4 Hands Anniversary Party. Pours a black appearance with a creamy tan head. Very rich chocolate bar, sweet malty, slightly milky, light coffee aroma. Creamy, rich chocolate flavor that’s very easy to drink. I wish I had more time to get a couple more.

Aroma is sugary milk chocolate, looks pitch black with off white head, some lacing. Taste is authentic chocolate, not super heavy. Delicious.

Pours an opaque black with 2 finger foamy tan head leaving mild lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate with hint of espresso and roasted malt. Hint of herbal hops. Mildly bitter throughout with a touch of sweet at the end. Long bitter finish. Full bodied, moderately carbonated. Sticky palate. Good overall beer. Surprised the average rating on this one is so low.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2013 January 15, 2013 on tap at brewery. Very dark pour with a nice puffy head that just kept going and going. Very nice lacing as well that coated the glass. This smells like a chocolate milk mixed with a chocolate shake. I can’t really say the taste is any different. If you like chocolate this is for you. Glad I picked up a bottle of this. Had via bottle at Skyviews and it was not quite the same beer. Lowering my scores a bit due to that.

Pours a jet black with very little head; predominant cocoa and coffee aromas; medium carbonation; intense roasted malt flavors, producing a potent coffee taste—so strong that if I didn’t know better, I’d think this was a cocoa coffee stout. A very pleasant beer for sipping. I can only imagine how incredible this would be with a piece of chocolate cake with fudge icing, or a slice of dark chocolate cheesecake.

On tap at EBF 3/16/13. This is a sweet chocolaty creamy vanilla milky stout. Very nicely done.

Had this at 4 Hands. This was full of chocolate in both the aroma and flavor. It was not as "milky" as expected and was thinner. Some hops brought mild bitterness and some fruitiness. Roast begins the flavor and does not detract from the chocolate. This was quite nice.

Pours very dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has very creamy chocolate, cream, spice, smooth roast and is very lush and rich - the aroma lives up to the name. It has a medium body that’s a bit crisp and sharp with prickly carbonation. I expected this to be more lush and smooth from the aroma. The flavor starts with cocoa, roast, some bitterness, mild creaminess, but much drier than the aroma. The finish has tree bark, earthiness and dry cocoa. It is quite nice and very chocolaty, but more dark chocolate and drier than expected. More to my taste that a sweet rich milk chocolate anyway.
