Draft… RBSG 2014This beer rocks!… Pours pitch-black with a small, creamy, khaki head. Decent retention. The nose is a lavish swirl of toasted coconut, vanilla, hot fudge and bourbon. Full-bodied and lightly creamy with an afterthought of carbonation. The flavor offers toasted coconut, a lot of sticky vanilla beans, a hint of bourbon and a mild measure of burnt bitterness. Finishes singed and carbonic. World class imperial stout!

Black/brown pour with tan head and lace. Aroma is large sweet chocolate, vanilla, and roasted malt. Large sweet chocolate start and a nice hop bitter. Full/medium bodied with good carbonation. I should have more to say about this very nice beer

UPDATED: JUN 30, 2014 Pour from a pitcher at RBSG during the bus tour. Pours an opaque coffee brown with a tan head. Wow, this one is smooth - vanilla, chocolate, marshmallow, caramel , molasses, mild roasted malts, oak, and bourbon. Medium-bodied, with soft carbonation and a smooth, sweet mouthfeel. Not incredibly complex for the style, but does everything just right. I’m excited to open my bottle and have it again soon.

Taster on tap at the brewery during RBSG. Thanks to phaleslu for making sure I got to try this! Black color. Light brown head. Amazing nose on this. I can smell it from 2 feet away. Awesome big vanilla coffee smell. Cream, burnt caramel. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, sort of chewy lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Moderate bitter taste. Light sweet. Bit of warmth. Fantastic, super-aromatic flavorful stuff. Hint of smoke, good roast.

Sampled at The Wine & Cheese Festival 2014 - Pours very dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has vanilla, coconut, dark caramel, chocolate and smooth roast - quite wonderful. It has a full rich smooth body with semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor begins with smooth vanilla / chocolate that’s got a harsher edge to it than the aroma. There is also roastiness, and bitterness that seems to come from the roast and earthy hops. The finish has very heavy roast continuing. Really nice stout.

On draught at the brewery
Pours an inky black color with a good head and nice lacing on the glass.

The aroma is loads of bourbon and roastiness. Very vanilla forward with a well controlled booziness. The chocolatey character is very nice as well.

The flavor is oaky with lots of chocolate. It’s very rich with plenty of vanilla and bourbon. It’s not overwhelmingly any one thing though, nicely balanced between the rich chocolate, the roasty parts, the barrel parts, & the vanilla.
