3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at iL Lazzarone's. Aroma is orange peel, lemon, straw, bread and pepper. Taste is same as aroma with the addition of some earthiness and some mango-like fruitiness. Medium, dry mouthfeel with lots of carbonation and carbonation sting.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draft. A medium clear golden color with minimal head. Smells of pear are prominent, with the usual spicy scents of a saison, coriander, barnyard, wheat. Taste is sweet fruit with pear, honey, mixed with the spiciness of some coriander, pepper, wheat and malt like tones. Thin mouth, crisp and easy to drink.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle... Pours hazy and yellow with a mid-sized, wispy, white head. Great retention. I can really smell the pears and spicy peppercorns in here. Also, I’m picking up some lightly floral and fruity hops complimented by a hint of vanilla. Full-bodied with busy carbonation. The flavor is fruity, juicy and a touch too sweet. Finishes crisp with lingering sweetness. Including pears as an ingredient was probably a bad idea… simply because I don’t like pears. Also, too much residual sugar for my taste; otherwise, this beer is solid. Bottle courtesy of biggsbowler!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours golden quite hazy with an orange hue and white grayish head. Aroma is really nice bringing French saison yeast and the orange zest, with undertones of the fruity pear. The fruitiness of the yeast and the pears and the oranges blend well with the oranges being brought forward. The zest ends the body quite dry.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Location: Draft at Hackney’s Printers Row, 7/15/14
Aroma: This one has a pear and citrus fruity aroma, pepper is more subtle, Belgian yeast
Appearance: Has a clear gold-orange pour, a small head and fairly minimal lace
Flavor: The flavor is more pepper/spice than the aroma, the fruit definitely plays second fiddle
Palate: It is light and easy drinking, tingly/spicy feel, lively carbonation, long finish
I remember sampling this at Where the Wild Beers Are, and low-and-behold, my notes line-up with this rating. I guess this is still how I feel about the beer a month later.
