Ruby Red Prussia is our non traditional look at the classic Berliner Weisse style. After a 24-hour sour mash and during fermentation we added fresh ruby red grapefruit juice. Ruby Red Prussia pours a slight pink hue with a nice tart finish. A perfect compliment to the hot summer heat.

From a 22-oz bottle this poured a gold color with no head and therefore no lacing. Nose of citrus. Light to medium body. Fizzy mouthfeel which was surprising with the lack of any form. Flavor flavor is tart grapefruit. Tart finish. A bit refreshing but a little goes a long ways.

Bomber from Whole Foods Plymouth. Pours golden with fizzy white head and a lot of carbonation. Nose is pale malt, grapefruit. Tastes pale malty, with grapefruit, quite a bit of acidic tartness, and a tart finish that ends dry. The mouthfeel is champagney, but the flavor depth and complexity are lacking in this.

Poured a light cloudy yellow color with aromas of light tart grapefruit and some cardboard. Flavors follow suit light tart grapefruit up front followed by wet cardboard.

Pours a hazy yellow. Aroma of grapefruit. Taste is off putting, strange bad water taste, grapefruit is there but this is a bit strange. Not for me.

Bottle at Exira Beer Summit IV. Pours a golden color with white head. Fruity, sour, grainy, lemon aromas. Sweet mash, wheat, grainy, slight fruity flavors. I don’t get much grapefruit in the flavor. Tastes like I’m drinking the mash of a homebrew, before pitching the yeast. Not very appetizing.

Bottle @ Exira Beer Summit IV, Day 3. Thanks to jcnielsen! Pours a clear, light peach appearance with a little white head. Corn crib, dusty grainy, a bit twangy aroma. Tangy, a bit fruity, flour/husky grainy flavor. Not good.

Aroma of lemon, grapefruit, rind. Slightly musty, truly unique. Nice amber gold color, visible effervescence, foamy white head with spotty lacing. Taste is barely tart, sweet, citrus, lemon and grapefruit. All there. All there really soft and subdued. Pleasant but not exceptional.

On tap at Flying Saucer KC. Pours a near clear pale yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of musty wheat and lemon and grapefruit. Flavor has a lot of musty wheat with underlying lemon and grapefruit.

22 oz. bottle via in-person STL trade. Pours a semi-cloudy peach color with a small head that quickly settles into a ring and very faint film. Aroma of wheat, sourdough, and grapefruit, with just a little bit of lactic character. Flavor is the same- wheat, sourdough, grapefruit, maybe a little bit of grain, straw, and lemon. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry, husky, wheaty, faintly lactic mouthfeel. Very well-done Berliner.

It poured a yellow color with a small white head. The aroma was of wheat with some citrus overtones. The taste was a little tart, more than I remember the first Prussia, with some grapefruit and wheat. Mighty tasty.
