COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Columbus Tomahawk Zeus is the primary hop variety in War Hammer as well as the inspiration for the name. We use a combination of Pacific Northwest hops to create layers of pungent flavors. A generous malt bill adds biscuit and honey notes while allowing the hops to take center stage. War Hammer pours golden in color with aromas of pineapple, mango, tangerine, resin, & slight earthy notes. Drink fresh!

Bottle thanks to Bmart. Nose is a hop explosion, fruity, danky, tropical. Wow. A light honey malt sweetness behind the hops. Taste is a lightly sweet but balanced malt with a moderate to high tropical fruit hop flavor. Pineapple. Mango this is nice! Just a touch of alcohol warming, light pepper. Very nice.

Poured from a bottle dated 03/25/15. Aroma has a fairly strong caramel and toasted bread malt profile with some lighter cracker and biscuit. Some moderate grapefruit and pine resin notes with some dank woodsy notes. Slightly spicy hop aroma as well. Pours a hazy, reddish copper color with a moderately large, thick, slightly off white head that shows good retention as it recedes to a film that lingers. Moderate lacing and medium small legs. Flavor is slightly sweet and similarly malty with quite a bit of toasted bread and nuts with lighter caramel and cracker notes. Rather high bitterness with a moderately strong hop character. Light alcohol spice in the finish. Hops have a moderate citrus character with quite a bit of pine and other woodsy notes. Some light spiciness as well. Fairly dry finish with only a slight stickiness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, this is not a bad beer but the hops and malt profile do not match my personal preferences for an IPA. Finishes drier than I was expecting which is nice.

From tap at 4 Hands brewery tasting room, big lush and juicy hop characteristics, citrusy, tropical, big melon notes with nicely balancing clean yet rich sweetness on an exceptionally sillky smooth medium plus body with well controlled carbonation

Bomber, opaque/hazy deep golden appearance with very little head, strong & pleasant floral/hoppy aroma, sticky resiny texture, very bitter on the palate, overall a very solid DIPA.
