A dry Irish style stout, presenting almost black, bearing a generous tan head. The aroma profile is of coffee, chocolate and caramel malts. These are matched on the pallet with a full bodied, smooth finish and a balancing bitterness. Currently being tested to become the first certified ‘space beer’ in the world! I’m not a big stout connaisseur, but I really enjoyed this one. Nice roasty, caramely, oaky aroma with a rather sweet taste of choclate and a slight coffee aroma and a decent hoppy finish. Smooth texture and a good carbonation.

Reasonably strong pleasant aroma of caramel. Pours near black with a tan head that sadly dissipates. Smooth mouthfeel with more carbonation than I’d expected from the brewers info. Very lively flavour of roasted malts, caramel and fruits. Slightly bitter at the end. A great drop and likely to become one of my favourites.

Deep reddish brown with good clarity if you hold it up to the light. Medium tan head with good lacing. Nice cocoa aroma with mild coffee notes. Taste is pleasantly bitter, with some pleasantly mild roasty flavour. There’s a touch of toffee sweetness, but it takes second fiddle. Finish is a bit short.

Bottle bought in Brisbane, August 2014. Black with a small tan head. A bit sweet with roasted malt, chocolate and some coffee. The finish was dry and with some bitterness. A soft and east to drink one. A good one.

Very dark, small tan head quickly disappears. very rich dark coffee chocolate roast aromas. Similar rich burnt malt, coffee flavours. Moderately bitter finish. A bit of carbonation, thin body. A lot of flavour here - nice one! [note to self - I remember Coopers best extra stout as being quite similar]

330ml bottle. Poured a ruddy dark brown with a large, dense and mostly lasting orange-hued mid-brown head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, roasted malts and dark, dried fruits. Flavours of dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malts balanced by a dark fruit tang all with a bitter ashiness towards the finish. Medium-ish body with medium, drying carbonation and an enduring malt-bitter finish.

Pretty solid India black ale. A little thin wit the roasted malts and even the hops are a little subdued but it works. Full mouth feel with no nasty lingering flavours. One if the best black IPAs I've tried so far
