Had on tap The Barley Oak in Mandeville,LA during the zwanze ’14 weekend .. . pretty much your standard craft amber .. made with red beans but the english yeast comes out quite a bit .. i liked it .. . . Draft on tap at Jackson Brewery (New Orleans, LA). Pours a nice deeper glowing brownish copper hue, a nice haziness darkens the body, penny glow on the edges and bottom with loose bubbly white head atop. Mellow lacing is a small ringer with gentle stick around. Aromas are a bit earthy, toasty, gentle carmelized malts, bread, biscuit, subtle earthy hop bitterness. Touch more sticky and toasty carmelization sticks around as the dominant feature. Initial is lighter end of the fold, gentle diacetyl touch meets toast, earthy bitterness, some earth, peanut, soil and bitter earth. A faint toastiness, middle shows some caramel jabs, red beans, toast and biscuit. A bit of bready malt, gentle earthy hop, twangy metallic jab. Finish is a bit of butterscotch, earth, and gentle bitterness. A bit buttery on the nose and throughout and I’m not all that sensitive to that. Meh.

On tap at BW3s Metaire. Pours a hazy copper gold with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong rice, sake, toasted malts. Medium mouthfeel with strong toasted malt, burnt sugar, metallic finish. Decent.

Appearance: clear brownish color with some amber in it too, no head but I blame the bartender Aroma: syrup, sweet, cane sugar, Taste: maple syrup, pretty sweet, cake, some amber malt comes thru Palate: lively carbonation, light to moderate mouthfeel, sweet aftertaste Overall: never had a beer like this, very sweet all malt beer with no bitterness, fun to drink every now and then, tried from tap ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap@ Avenue Pub 28June2014@0700. Clear amber with fleeting head. Caramel Cotten candy rice pudding aromas. Watery Mouthfeel . Caramel, grainy rice flavors with some mild floral hoppage-______ not bad.
