UPDATED: FEB 2, 2015 Very interesting take on Witbier. The lime and passion fruit work. If you like witbier then you’ll enjoy this. Refreshing and good for summer. Fruity but not too sweet. I’m not so in to witbier but I still thought it was decent. Has that wateriness that many witbiers have. Serving: Bottle

2015 BJCP Category: 24A Witbier

AROMA: Lime peel and some passionfruit. Sweet floral notes. Slightly tartness. 9/12

APPEARANCE: Pale banana yellow; extremely hazy. No visible sediment (or CO2). Small white foam almost completely dissipates. 1/3

FLAVOR: Mild tartness (akin to lemonade) up front which grows stronger throughout the swig. Passion fruit and lime are prominent; some coriander spice in the background (this could be considered a fruit or SHV brew). Solid wheat base and pale malt backbone. Innovative for the style. 17/20

MOUTHFEEL: Light body; smooth texture. Crisp, but not spastic. Refreshing with a mild fruity aftertaste. Lot of flavor for only 4.3%. 5/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Tasty, refreshing and sessionable. Controversial for the style. This would be great in cans. 8/10

TOTAL SCORE: 40/50

12 oz bottle. Pour is very hazy lemon-flesh yellow with a small white head. Aroma is sweet rock candy-malt, faint lemon notes, and light floral notes. Flavor is faintly tart with hints of lemon, light topical fruit notes, faint floral hops, and a slightly salty finish.

Passion fruit gives this beer an exquisite aroma, which sadly doesn’t carry over so well to its flavor. Flavor is a little sweet tart. Body’s a touch thin; Overall not too bad. Been waiting a long time for someone to use passion fruit in beer.

Draft sample from notes. Pours a hazy yellow golden color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale wheat malts, orange and lemon citrus, light spices, hints of tropical fruit, thin watery, just a one time thing for me.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy, yellowish-green, with a medium, bubbly, white head. The nose is lime, straw, coriander, tequila, and selzer. Relatively sweet, with a light, dry bitterness. Light body, crisp, acidic, and very effervescent. This is an interesting and well made wheat.

On tap at Comida in The Source. Yellow-green and hazy appearance with a diminishing head. Tropical, fruity and refreshing with light spices and hints of breaded malt. Light bodied and easy to drink. Nice.

Sampled at GABF 2015. Poured a cloudy yellow with dingy white head. Nose of citrus and spices I think. Medium body. Favor interesting with a lot of spices. I get cloves for sure. Not bad.

Poured a yellowish color from the bottle with aromas of light clove, passion fruit, some lemon, and a touch of malt. Flavors were light passion fruit with some lemon, clean malt, a light spice in the aftertaste, solid.
