3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Great color, a aftertaste of slightly spicy ness. Aroma was tame. Overall it was above average , but not one of my best.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle @ home, courtesy of TheAlum. Thanks Adam! Pours an orangish brown appearance with a thin tan head. Chocolate and veggie aroma. Some cinnamon / chili spiciness. Kind of thin body. Spicy, minty chocolate, celery flavor. Pretty sweet. Low bitterness. Gross.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
[Bottle] Dark brown pour and with a small dark brown head. Sweet brown sugar and caramel nose. Taste is of sweet caramel and molasses. Mild grass and lingering residual sweetness in the finish. Not much heat from the ancho. OK overall. Tasting notes from 2/2014.

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
My first and definately my last sample of this brew. I guess Iím not much of chile ancho fan. WIsh I could say better about it since it is my home state.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Darker beer, maybe a muddy brown with a little dirty tan head. Aroma is a light alcohol and maybe some malty. Flavor is more malty than burned, which I appreciate. But itís still not quite my cup of hoppy IPA.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Somewhat thin looking deep brown body with reddish highlights and a big tan fluffy head. Aromas are nuts, toffee, roast and a little vegetable matter (ancho?). Flavor is sweet and dusty with a little bit of smokey heat in the finish. Not much, but it is there. The sweetness is distracting though, and the whole beer comes across as a little under attenuated in my book.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle poured into a shaker. Initially smells doughy with a twist of lemon. It pours a dark, rich cola color with a thin off-white head that recedes quickly - sparse lacing remains on the surface. itís heavily sweet, medium bitter, and lightly sour. Starts out with a thin, lime-like flavor, kinda like a corona or dos equis with a lime wedge, which quickly gives way to some of the smoother, sour malt. The "chili" flavoring comes in late and light; very subtle. Itís a unique concept, and I canít really say it was done right or wrong. Probably a good session beer - light enough to drink without feeling full, with nothing overwhelming that might turn-off an average beer drinker - and the spice adds a decent conversation starter. If given the options between mass produced domestic beers and this one, Iíd probably grab for this one, but it doesnít really strike my fancy; tough decision if stuck between a dos equis dark or this one.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
pours hazy amber. fruity and sweet caramel and bread aromas with some toast. Flavor is odd fruity qualities mixed with some light spice and sweet caramels. Body is medium thin and lightly carbed. Kinda underwhelming and you canít really tell where they are wanting to go with this one.
