A handsome looking beer, having a clear chestnut body with a creamy beige head and sheets of lace, this ale has a soft caramel and bread aroma complemented by a light chili spiciness. The flavor has the addition of a toastiness and the mild ancho chile serves to balance the malty sweetness. Any heat from the peppers serves as a quiet afterthought. Nice.

FROTHINGSLOSH (5077) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 23, 2012
From the July 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark nut brown color with a huge foamy beige head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was malty and nutty with a hot pepper presence. The flavor was tangy, malty and a touch skunky with notes of nut and hot peppers. The finish was medium length tangy, nutty and hot pepper. Medium body. Odd.

Bottle purchased at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell. Clear reddish brown pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, lager yeast and peppers. Malty and caramelly flavor with some toffee and a slight peppery finish.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of malt, mash, caramel, sugar, slight diacetyl, and some toasting. Poured deep amber/brown in color with a small, creamy, loose, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Lightly sparkling. Full of small-sized particles throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet and slightly spicy. Tastes of malt, mash, caramel, sugar, slight diacetyl, some toasting, and some hot chilies. Medium body. Slightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Lightly sweet, lightly spicy, malt, mash, caramel, sugar, slight diacetyl, some toasting, and some hot chili finish.

12oz bottle. Amber-brown body, respectable beige head. Big fruity ancho pepper aroma, coupled with some mild caramel chocolate. An interesting enough beer, sort of a Schwarz with some mild pepper tones. Not really balanced though, kind of a mess. Worthy of a tick, but probably not one to seek out.

This poured a slightly hazy lighter brown to dark red color with a beige head. Aroma was toasted and lightly roasted malts, some spice notes, maybe form the chiles, and some dark fruits. Flavor was very light chile spice and heat, but detectable, rounded of dark fruit and toasted grains finish. Better than expected.

Well, anything featuring a buzzard on the label can’t get high marks for appearance. Dark brown with fine carbonation. Malty, doughy aroma with some acidity and roast. Tangy, brown sugar and molasses tones, slow burn spicy. Slightly heavy body. Standard 12 oz longneck. New Leaf Market.

Bottle w/ twist off cap. Sterile vanilla aroma. Brown liquid. Quite strong on the taste buds, a new strong sensation. Hah, a pretty good craft beer from minhas. A little too strong for me but I bet you’ll like it.

Pours clear, dark, wet copper with a tall, thick, tan head. Scent is spiced caramel....sugar... Taste is caramel....chilis are noticeable but not overblown..... Malty. Increasing peppery tones as it warms and finishes. An interesting little oddity....well worth a try.
