Oaxacan-Style Dark Ale brewed with piloncillo sugar and chile ancho. 5 Vulture is a deep amber-colored ale with complex caramel aromas with toasted sugar notes and a long, elegant spicy finish. Roasted ancho chile is used to add depth and complexity, without adding heat or strong chile flavors.

Dark amber pour with a brown head that totally went away. Aroma is malt and a hint of spice. Taste is malty, a little smoke and spice. OK flavor. The pepper is detectable as the beer warms. An ok beer.

Great color, a aftertaste of slightly spicy ness. Aroma was tame. Overall it was above average , but not one of my best. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From the tap poured a dark amber color with a small amount of head. Strong malty flavor with a lingering finish.

Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 12 oz bottle. Pours a lazy dark brown, little to no head. Aroma has some interesting earthy notes with some peppers and topsoil. Flavor is earthy as well with some bittersweet baker’s chocolate, some peppery accents, a touch of day old black coffee. Mouthfeel has a decent thickness to it. Not half bad.

Pours a very dark brown color with a modest, quick fading, light tan head. Aroma has a sweet molasses and malty nose, light toasted notes with a touch of chocolate. Flavor starts off with a very sweet molasses kick followed up by a nice sweet/toasted malt combo and finishes with a light peppery touch. Body is low in carbonation, smooth with a light sugary feeling and light heat from the pepper. Overall not a bad brew. The pepper doesn’t dominate the flavor and add just a touch of heat which works very nicely with this brew.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a deep amber glare and a small tan head. Aroma is toasted malty. Caramelish. Sweet, breadish and light metallic. Toasted and caramelish finish.

Sampler at Mondial de la Biere in Montreal. Cloudy brown body, small white head. Aroma of roasted malt, prunes, chocolate, light smokiness. Taste of brown sugar, prunes, chocolate, burned caramel. Where’s the heat?

Single bottle from mix pack. Pours a hazy reddish-brown, very thin, soapy head. Aroma of chocolate, yeast, a little vanilla extract. Flavor is very sweet up front, but backs off to something a little more balanced. Pepper component is there in taste, but doesn’t add any spice. Approach it like a brown ale and you’ll probably enjoy it.

Poured from 12 oz into shaker. Color was brown amber with a tan head. Aroma was caramel with the hint of spice that it was brewed with. Taste was malty follow with the chili spice but not over powering. The flavors are very balanced. The adds a nice zing but overall the beer is neither exciting or thrilling
