At Rockwells. A robust brown ale that starts malty and sweet but in the end left a spicy tingling in the mount. Serving: Tap

Cortesy of hombrepalo. Sugary spice aroma very good. Amber body with beige head. Roated spice with some sugar sweetener. Thought this would be more harsh like a Vultue attacking my taste buds but it wasn’t rather smooth on thee palate with the spicey chilli aftertaste. Good brew thx Horacio.

Bottle. Poured clear brown color with an average to large light brown frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted caramel malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Heavy sweet brew.

Belmont bottle. Different overall. Kinda reminded me of a lighter porter with a hint of sweetness. I really didn’t get much from the chilis; maybe a little spice but no heat. Fine but a touch thin overall.

Aroma of chocolate, and caramel. Pours a deep brown with thin tan head. Surprising rich caramel malt taste, sweet. Caramel lingers, almost too long, finishes with right amount of bitterness (mild). Aftertaste lingers a bit. Surprised by the spice/herb/vegetable classification....tastes more like Vienna lager minus the crispy, dry finish.

pours hazy amber. fruity and sweet caramel and bread aromas with some toast. Flavor is odd fruity qualities mixed with some light spice and sweet caramels. Body is medium thin and lightly carbed. Kinda underwhelming and you can’t really tell where they are wanting to go with this one.

Sort of reminds me of a porter, or like a watered down version of Huna? Nice really. Better than expected. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap @ Monk’s Pub: Deep amber, nearly brown with golden highlights, fading head but good lace. The aroma has notes of caramel, burnt sugar, pepper, some prune and raisin, herbal, flowery and a bit wierd. The taste starts roasty with lots of caramel and butterscotch sweetness. Some wet graininess and herbal veggie overtones. Light spice and ashy tones upon the finish but not enough the clean up the palate from the Diacetyl and Dimethyl Sulfides found lurking about. The mouth feel is moderately carbonated, pretty smooth (too smooth for a brew with Ancho Chiles if you ask me) with a ashy finish. Meh, I fully expected more, either step up and give us a spicy beer or do not waste my time.
