Gringolandia is an affectionate term used by many Latinos to refer to the United States. We’re using the term to paint a picture of our collective 5 Rabbit experience as a Latin-based company in the exciting melting pot that is 21st century Chicagoland, and to brew beers that reflect that experience. It’s our tribute to the American craft beer movement.

After staking out our Latin credentials with several exciting, ingredient-based beers in the “5″ series, we felt it was time to expand our range. These beers are our own interpretations of some popular craft beer styles, changed up a little to make them our own distinct beers different from anyone else’s.

Oh yes it is!Fabulosa Porter is a creamy, roasty porter with soft cocoa character. It is brewed with unmalted wheat for a smooth, milkshake texture. Chocolatey aroma, creamy cappuccino flavors, soft bittersweet finish.

Bottle from Binny’s in Bloomingdale, IL. Very dark brown pour that looks like a dark cola on the edges. Smaller soapy light beige head. Great aroma of rich roasted malts, a bit of sweetness, almost milkiness. Tasty beer, but the taste is not as remarkable as the aroma. Medium bodied. Solid.

12 oz. bottle poured to a goblet, displaying a darkest brown color, with ruby highlighting showing through the clarity, frothy, brownish tan head foam that gradually reduced to a thick ring & bubbly film, and wavy cling to the lacing. The nose was malty & roasted, with cocoa, coffee on the back, and hints of wood & char. A little less than medium bodied, but well carbonated, the mouthfeel showed a bit of creaminess, as the hop influence was roasted & earthy, with particularly marked astringency to the dry, smoky, and lightly dark fruited finish. May a little dusty bite at the end, but a tasty, fairly drinkable Porter, otherwise.

The aroma is sweet and filled with roasted malt and chocolate with a hint of coffee and hops. The appearance is dark brown. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall a nice porter.

Pours dark brown with a mocha colored head that settles to a wispy ring and leaves decent lacing. Aroma of mild chocolate and roast and a hint of dark bread. Taste has cocoa powder, soft roastiness, coffee bean and some bittersweet chocolate. Finishes mostly dry with a hint of smooth roast. Mouthfeel is semi creamy with a medium body and low carbonation. Solid and drinkable Porter with nothing fancy going on, just well blended and mild flavors.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered deep brown black body. Pretty steady rusty beige head. Cocoa, chocolate aroma. Sweet, sugary chocolate porter. Has some doughy, bakers chocolate. Nice flavors, but kind of sweet. Creamy, some Milk Stout tendencies. The wheat does indeed give it a milkshake texture, which isn’t really what I want in a beer...but is pretty tasty. A respectable enough offering from a unique brewery.

12oz bottle 8/17/14 (Binny’s Mix A Six)-50° in Shaker-Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Taste of the same with some bitterness on the back end. This medium bodied brew is quite tasty.

12oz bottle poured into old school Hoegaarden tulip. Really dark brown color but not black. Small head, fades into nothing. Aroma is balanced with light fume and mineral. Light malt, not sugar, sweetness. Flavor is similarly light and balanced, short aftertaste and light body. Its full of flavor yet easily drinkable. Might seem simple but actually very special.
