4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
An excellent Pils! Most Ratebeer members favor the heavier beers, especially IPAs and Imperial IPAs. So, the lighter beers (Pils, lagers and wheats) never seem to rate as high as heavier beers. Do not be deceived by the ratings, Gringolandia Super Pils is an excellent Pils. A bold, clean, crisp beer with a hint of fruit. I almost made the mistake of not trying this beer due to lower ratings, but my local package store clerk strongly recommended Gringolandia. A great beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear yellow with lots of bubbles and a nice, white head. The aroma has a nice bready pils malt character, and some strong German noble type hops that lend very floral and moderate citrusy and lemongrass notes. The yeast shows up in the flavor as this is not as clean as a lager, but the slight estery character goes well with everything else. Drinks like a much lower gravity beer, with a decent amount of bitterness and lingering hop flavors. Nice.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pale yellow pour with a small, white head. The floral hop aroma has fruity notes and orange peel. It has a medium body with smooth texture and average carbonation. The tastes is well balanced with sweetness in the beginning and finishing slightly bitter with a touch of alcohol.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From BandC. Pretty good strong pils, grassy herbal hops a little sweet due to the strength, not cloying. Serving: Bottle

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Single bottle from Binnyís, bought in May. Poured in a tall lager glass. Pours with a big head that leaves some sudsy foam behind, iver a deeper yellow body than most. Smell is that warm nostalgic smell of the way your first beer tasted, maybe sipped in a bowling alley when dad wasnít looking. Just a tad grainy and restrained in sweetness. Taste is a nice pilsener, or maybe more of a Dortmunder taste: dry malts with little sweetness, slightly prickly bubbles and a note of pepper from German (I believe) hops. A comforting reminder of how beer used to taste before we knew better.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft sample at the Cincy Beerfest on Fountain Square, 2014. Pours a cloudy gold color with a big white head. Plenty of malts - pale, pils, sweet bread, crackers - with grass, and citrus zest. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a bready, malty mouthfeel. Not a style I normally like, but this was pretty good.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from the bottle of a 6-pack into a pint glass. I like strong beer that is different from what is out there and this is definitely that kind of beer, but I have a few discrepancies with the commercial description which reads:
"Super Pils is a classic pilsner character in a big, bold beer that drinks like an IPA. Euro-pils character, but bolder. Cool-fermented with our house ale yeast for a clean, smooth flavor with just the barest hint of fruitines. Perfect balance of malt and hops in classic pils fashionójust stronger."
First off this tastes nothing like a Pils, itís a Hefe Weizen, and the only way it drinks like an IPA is the ABV. It is smooth but itís nothing if not fruity and not bitter what so ever like a pils. Iím not sure what beers were tasted to learn the classic pils fashion but none of them were classic pils.
All discrepancies aside I really like this beer, a strong Hefe done very well. This is one of the only beers Iíve seen that is 7+ and isnít and IPA so thumbs up to that, but go drink a Staropramen and then come and talk to me about pils.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Location: Draft at The Gage, Independence Day 2014
Aroma: The nose is fruity, with some pilsener malts, a bit of yeast, and some spice
Appearance: It pours a hazed yellow color with a nice, creamy head on it
Flavor: The flavor is along the same line, balanced with fruit, lager yeast, and some spice
Palate: The body is medium-plus, it has a decent mouthfeel, and a soft carbonation
I thought this one was solid. I canít too much higher than that though, but thereís nothing wrong with enjoying a nice, solid beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Iíll admit, the "65 IBUs" on the label was what attracted this non-repentant hop-head to this beer. Also, based on the few brews that Iíve tried of theirs already, 5 Rabbit is a very welcome addition to the Chicago area beer scene.
Nice head on this beer, tall and creamy initially,k it slowly collapses in chunks, giving it a rocky appearance. Oh - and the body has slightly hazed yellow look to it. Itís got a very lively aroma - from the hops a touch of the floral, some very ripe tangerines, an orange or two, a hint of zest - from the malt, a light cereal sweetness. This has a soft yet full mouthfeel... a comment that will only make sense to one whoís tried this beer. The flavor blends all the sensations from the nose quite masterfully, adding a bitterness that, although not intense, satisfies this old hop-head. The finish has a powdery dryness to it and a subtle bitterness that lingers a long, long while. Iím impressed.
This is a great beer to sip, gulp, or swig. Try it and enjoy.
