Thanks to Jennifer for sharing!! Pours a hazy reddish gold color with a small tan head. The aroma is fruit, savory elements, wet grain. The taste is earthy, savory, sweet fruit, caramel malt then ending tart and slightly sour. The body is medium and a bit chewy with fine carbonation. Interesting whatever the hell it is.

Bottle @ RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty spicy weak yeasty aroma. Fruity malty spicy caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy weak yeasty finish.

Bottle @ RBSG 2014 Grand Tasting. Thanks for a rare mushroom style ale, Frank. Somewhat of a copper/orange pour with a white head. A touch earthy, but a lot of sweet bread and brown sugar on the nose. Some vanilla, plum, and sweet orange juice. Flavor is quite sweet, but there is a subtle earthiness and some citrus. A bit woody and some dark fruits. Interesting beer. Not sure it quite works, but it’s not bad.

Bottle during RBSG 2014 Grand Tasting at Schlafly Tap Room. Golden brown with off-white head. Aromas of funk. Tastes of pears and funk. Medium-light body with a dry finish.

Randy Mosher is a homebrew author and is in charge of something or other at 5 Rabbit. I recall reading in one of his books about brewing w/ mushrooms and thinking it seemed like a pretty ridiculous idea and ever since I have wanted to drink a mushroom beer w/o having to brew that beer myself. For this reason, I am very thankful for Ki Chun and now I know what mushroom beer tastes like. I figured this would be all black but it’s a clear orange w/ a mixed bubbled head. It has mild nose and seems to be slightly oxidized. It is very sweet and malty which really rubs me the wrong way when combined w/ the earthiness of the mushrooms (I presume it’s the mushrooms). I have to admit that I was biased in thinking I probably wouldn’t like this before I tried it but it just really doesn’t seem like the kind of thing anyone would want to drink more than once.

Bottle @ RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours a reddish orange appearance with a tan head. Twangy, pineapple, citrusy aroma. Brown sugar, thickly sweet, tangerine flavor. Not that great. Candy like.

Random sample at DLD 14. Mushrooms! Light colored pour. Smallish head. Aroma of nuts and yeast. Taste is earthy, crisp and fruity. Nice nutty finish.
