4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Fatpour Chicago. Sweet slightly boozy aroma. Flavor is sweet and caramelly with some rich spice notes. Tastes like a darker Tripel as it doesn’t have the hop bite of a typical Oktoberfest and is much sweeter. I really liked it but I understand why some would say it’s a little flat.

Extra from flandersned-thanks, Steve! Murky brown. Nice enough nose of sweet cream, malts, light spice. Taste is creamy, sweet lactose, with loads of caramel, and some spice. Doesn’t work for me but sure some love this.

Pours a clear caramel color that lacks a head. The aroma is heavy on cinnamon and spices, along with some nutmeg, toffee, and bread. The taste is dry. There is nutmeg and spices up front, moving into orange, ginger, and cinnamon. Hints of breadiness, minor yeast and apple as well. The aftertaste is a short spicy apple flavor. Medium bodied, more thin in texture, and having some softer carbonation. This one isn’t all that bad. I’m not sure I’d purchase it again, but I’d have no problem drinking one again.

Pour on tap, dark orange-red pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, lots of yeasty and hoppy spice into a bit of grass, big spice notes from cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice come through as well. Taste is a mix of cinnamon, clove, some ginger into a bit of caramel, toffee, slight grass, touch of bread, finishing fairly sweet, slightly spicy.

Just not a great beer. I have not had a good one out of this brewery. They call it an octoberfest but it is a little spicy and smells like socks. Hard to choke down. Pours a nice cooper color

(bottle - 12 oz) Orange pour with a fizzy white head. Heavy spice aroma with a nice malt undertone. Flavor is a good Oktoberfest base but then a ton of spices and sweetness from the milk caramel. Sweet and really smooth.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours amber-orange with a minimal head. Aroma is yeasty and spicy (nutmeg/cinnamon kinda spicy). Taste is "wet" and spicy. It’s like a pumpkin beer blended with an easy to drink Oktoberfest Märzen. There seems to be a hoppy presence in the mid. Definitely interesting and if you imagine the dulce de leche, you can pick it up. Curious as to why it is called "life and death"? P.S. - I guess I should read the brewers description. Duh.

Semisweet chocolate, dash of caramel, drinks kinda like a midway between a porter and a festbier, really tasty and awesome despite not being totally to style.

Clearish tea color. Tight khaki head. Bad tap label. Light lemony tea aroma with some florality. Soapy mouthfeel... a little on the light side with the body. Lightly candied effect, but not sweet. Very lightly tannic. Lightly acidic finish. On tap, Brass Tap,Tallahassee Midtown.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly sparkling medium copper with an initial bubbly off-white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma has some light caramel and dates. Flavor is decent and on the sweet side with some caramel notes, a touch of raisins, just a light hint of chocolate. Clean, even mouthfeel. Does in a pinch.

Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.
