CaptainCougar (4687), Rockville, Maryland, USA May 10, 2008 On tap at the brewpub on 5/4/08: Transparent dark copper amber with a nicely-lacing frothy tan head. Aroma of sweet caramely German malt and some mild noble hops. Starts with decent fullness and sweet caramel maltiness with a good bittering hop balance before a smooth bittersweet finish with a touch of doughy yeast. A nice bock. BückDich (4605), Boise, Idaho, USA Apr 7, 2004 Dark amber with tan head & lacing. The aroma is malty and smooth with some fruit & spice. Full bodied rich flavor with creamy light fruit and malt notes. Finishes dry & refreshing. goldtwins (3747), Nesconset, New York, USA Mar 29, 2006 Draft @ the 5. Poured a clear dark copper color with a thin beige head. The aroma was light but mostly fruity. Plums seemed to dominate the aroma. Malty flavor with some more fruit. The finish was semi-dry with a bitter hop finish. aracauna (2251), Georgia, USA Feb 3, 2003 Updated: Mar 29, 2003Quite possibly the best thing I had here this time around. Nice black but far from opaque body (red hues). Large frothy head is just a little darker than off-white. Nice chewy malt leans heavily toward the chocolate end of the spectrum. Tasty but surprisingly drinkable beer.
