2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 smcolw (426) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 24, 2009
Gold color with a very mild haze--nearly clear. Modest head but leaves very good lace on the glass.
Grainy smell of spent grains. There is a mild hop way in the background.
This is very close to a lawn mower beer, but not quite. The flavor is light and grainy, like the smell, but the hop is a bit more pronounced. I imagine this is the right beer for the uninitiated to brew pubs. Of the flight I had, this was my personal least-favorite.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 hotstuff (3340) - Indiana, USA - OCT 3, 2009
Tap at 5 Seasons Brewing Company. Poured a tan small head that mostly diminished, transparent body, visible carbonation, spotty amounts of lacing, and a golden hue. The aroma was bready, malty and sweet. The flavor was malty, sweet and thin tasting. Smooth mouthfeel and light bodied. Very easy to drink but lacks a lot of character and I was left unimpressed overall.
