Name: Bear’s Beer Belgian IPA
Date: January 22, 2011

Appearance: cloudy burnt orange, creamy off white head, lots of lace
Aroma: sweet spicy aroma, fruity orange
Flavor: sweet fruity flavor, fruity esters with a hint of orange, touch of candy sweetness, light phenols mix with floral hops, growing citrus, grapefruit rind, light bitter finish
Overall: unlike the typical Belgian IPA with the big citrus character yet the fruity esters and touch of phenolic spicyness adds a lot of depth to a typical citrus IPA, this combo works very well

the sweet fruity esters are really taking off as the citrus back off a bit, candy character grows along with the sweet esters,

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ChainGangGuy (3834) - Canton, Georgia, USA - SEP 15, 2011
Appearance: Set before me a hazed, dark amber body with a scant, stucco-white head.
Smell: Bready, lightly caramel-scented malts with a nice note of fresh citrus and a small amount of underlying earthiness.
Taste: A modestly sweet mixture of caramel and crushed rock candy before a bite of bready barley. Citrusy, floral hops with a definitely grapefruit bent to it. Medium-high bitterness. Just a kiss of spicy yeast character. Citric, juicy, and still bitter on the warming finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Lightly carbonation. Soft mouthfeel overall.
Overall: Fairly good. Though the cask was served cool, allowing it to warm just a bit further helped awaken the citrus character.
