On tap at the grand opening 1/19/07: Pours a transparent copper orange with a thin ring of off-white head. Aroma of lightly sweet, toasty pale malt with a touch of citrusy grapefruity hops. Body starts with nice mild malty sweetness and good fresh piny citrusy hoppy balance. A nice APA.

Appearance: Hazy, dark copper body with a small, ivory-colored head. Smell: Malts smelling lightly of cracked English toffee and dry biscuits enveloped by a grassy hop character. Taste: English-minded maltiness with a hint of toffee and less than a hint of sweetness. Takes on a more biscuity quality upon warming. Grassy, earthy hops with a medium bitterness. Finishes decidedly bitter. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-low carbonation. Drinkability: I’ve had different renditions of the BR-549 Pale Ale, and, for me, I must admit I preferred the more maltier, somewhat sweeter versions we saw early on.

On tap at the brewpub with CaptainCougar, TBC, and kp
Pours hazy dark copper orange. Stiff white head.
Earthy woody hop aroma. Some dry biscuit malts aromas
Lots of earthy hops. Some citrus and herbs as well. Again with the biscuit.
Kind of a typical body and mouthfeel. Light body and refreshing.
Yeppers, its a pale ale.

on tap-pours a thin off white head and cloudy orange color. Aroma is musty malt, earthy hops. Taste is musty medium malt, secondary earthy/metallic (English) hops, pungent (non-English) hops and woody. Descriptions says barley is British, hops are American!? Later I did pick up the citrus hops but for the first 3/4 , none.
