Smell: Bright, earthy spiced orange peel aroma with a light, gentle caramel maltiness.
Taste: Light caramel maltiness with a subtle sweetness. Soft spiciness throughout. Mild clementine hop flavor with a mild earthy bitterness. Fairly easy, light finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Very soft mouthfeel.
Drinkability: It’s good from the word "go". I’ve never seen unclemattie so happy in all my days.
aracauna (2238), Georgia, USA Apr 24, 2008 This was a bit darker than I was expecting. The flavor is equally malty with a lot of caramel malts going on. There’s a bit of hoppiness, the amarillo is a little buried by the malts so it’s not quite as obvious as Amarillo often is, but this is a tasty beer. Interesting brown ale is the best way I’d describe it. Cybercat (399), USA Mar 21, 2008 This pours a lovely transparent brown with a fine head. The strong aroma is malty and has a hint of spice - cinnamon, or cloves, or perhaps both. The rich flavor has a strong hop component and a hint of the Japanese flavoring miso (a salty seaweed derivative). Spicy, smooth but lively. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Feb 24, 2008 Updated: May 3, 2008Name: Duck-Billed Platypus Belgian Pale Ale
