COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The BrewMasters had a homebrew competition and we got to judge the Best of Show. Guy Beck won with a really nice IPA with a tasty Simcoe hop profile. Guy joined us and we brewed it up to celebrate the victory.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2009 On tap at pub. Poured cloudy orange, with a beige head. Aroma of earthy hops, faint grain, citrus, sweet malt. Taste is not overly hoppy, and I struggle to find the Simcoe noted in the description. This is IPA is a little more malt forward than most, which is fine, but there are also some muddy, earthy notes that are unappealing. Finish is not overly bitter. Mouth is pretty full and creamy. Overall, an okay IPA.

Tap at 5 seasons. Orangish pour, light head. Hops are evident in the aroma but not enough. It has something odd in it? Couldn’t place it. Malt bill is fairly high. Hank said it right, this beer is muddled. Not what I would want in an IPA to be honest.
