| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 3, 2009 Appearance: Served up a clear, coppery-amber body with a half inch of whitish foam.
Smell: Displays a modestly toasted breadiness with an extremely subtle, restrained Noble hop aroma.
Taste: The flavor is dominated by the sweet bready character of the German malts and complimented by a touch of mild spicy Noble hops and bitterness. Faint blip of yeastiness. A few more flourishes of sweetened bread crusts, a crisp finish, and you’re out.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-light carbonation.
Drinkability: As is the case with any well-crafted Oktoberfest brew, it excels in overall drinkability.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 16, 2009 On tap. this is a cloudy copper beer with a particularly good looking head. The aroma is sharp, though smooth with no vegetation or corn. It’s just slightly zesty with bread, biscuits, and paper. The palate is slick with a well balanced flavor. Something about this is slightly different from the usual Oktoberfest. It is smoother, yet does not lack flavor. Less wooden notes and less lager esters are apparent. More citrus and biscuits are detected in the flavor. This is a nice sessionable lager. Quite a surprise. unclemattie (2413), Georgia, USA
