ChainGangGuy (1602), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Oct 27, 2007 Appearance: Pours a hazy, reddish-copper body with a small, creamy-looking, ivory-colored head.
Smell: Aroma of dried grapefruit rinds with a bit of caramel in the background.
Taste: Rich grapefruit flavor with a mild sweetness and a hint of caramel. Moderate bitterness with a nice earthiness. As one would expect, it finishes dry and bitterness. A hint of grass emerges as it warms.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A very pleasant, wonderfully drinkable IPA.
TheBeerOrg (1391), Kentucky, USA Apr 23, 2008 Backlogged rating from the opening on 5SN - Pours hazy golden with a thin wispy off-white head. Aroma of cantaloupe, mango, and some juicy Amarillos. Tastes of mango, cantaloupe, grapefruit, and a citrus medley. Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. KieferUGA (351), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Dec 15, 2007 Draft. Pours a dark amber. Small, white head. Huge aroma of piney hops. As the beer goes down, a citrus hopfeel takes over. Nice bitter finish. My favorite beer of the afternoon. mcbackus (662), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Dec 3, 2007 growler thanks to kp for bringing this one: pours a cooper brown not much of a off white head. aroma of very tropical fruit, very fresh hops of the earth kind. very nice not much malt but enough to mike it a little more on the balanced side. flavour is very earthy grass and some odd toffeee sweetness in the malt. a nice bitter hop earth finish. DragonStout (1181), Orlando, Florida, USA Nov 29, 2007 Thanx Kp for sharing this growler.Poured an amber color with a small dissipating white head.Lots of piney hops on the nose.Flavor was full on hopfest.Lots of bitterness which stayed for the whole ride through the finish. hopscotch (4577), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Nov 27, 2007 Updated: Nov 29, 2007Bottle...O-Town Throwdown Part Tres... This beer rocks!... Beautiful, mostly clear, copper ale with a small, wispy, white head. Gobs of gooey caramel along with citrus and evergreen hops in the nose. The flavor leans toward the bitter side of balance, but not by much. Huge caramel/crystal malt backbone supports a nice, biting dose of PNW/Cascade hops. Full-bodied with (almost) a mineral oil mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Fuzzy fruit and dark fruit, bittersweet finish. Thanks to kp for sharing another great bottle of beer hand-crafted by the mastermind at the dearly-departed Dogwood Brewing Company!
