3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 theisti (2441) - Leawood, USA - MAY 20, 2010
Tulip glass pour at the brewpub in Atlanta, Georgia. Pour is hazed orange copper with not much of a head. Aroma is sweet malt grain, touch of wheat and spicy yeast. Taste is more earth and mineral and traditional Dupont flavors. Palates has a lower level of carbonation with an aftertaste of lingering clove yeast. Nice.

On tap at westside. A classic cloudy orange color with white head that quickly dissipates. Spicey citrus aroma and decent body with a nice mouth coating texture. A little woody and nutty with a lot of wild earthy yeast on the finish.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Pawola22 (2196) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 30, 2010
On tap at the Westside location in Atlanta. Pours a lightly hazed, orange-golden with a finger-width, creamy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a good amount of soft, runny lacing. Aroma is nice. Fruity with a light ester and a nice tropical citrus. Good amount of hay and grass with a nice peppery, spicy, yeast. Some medium sweet wheats and a light bread offer a nice malt balance. Flavor is similar. Seemed a bit thin and lacking at first, but opened up more as it warmed allowing the spices to come forward. Lightly sweetened wheat malts and some bread up front with floral fruits. Some citrus, peaches, and tropical fruits. A lighter hay and grassy bitterness as well as a soft, peppery, yeast spice that dries this out and makes it somewhat crisp. Medium length aftertaste following a light, smooth body. Overall, a decent saison. A bit thin at times, but well crafted with a few nice things going on. Not bad.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Butters (3013) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAY 8, 2010
At the westside location. The best I had in the sampler. Like old lemonade with low carbonation. a little funk on the nose is pleasant.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 CaptainCougar (6833) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JUN 11, 2009
Tap late May 2008: Pours a transparent dark golden bronze with a spotty-lacing white head. Sweet Belgian malty nose has some floral notes with a touch of spices and bready yeast. Body starts with decent fullness and sweet biscuity malts along with some clove and orange peel spice before a slightly drier crisp finish. A pretty good saison.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 aracauna (2683) - Georgia, USA - APR 24, 2008
Pours a slightly hazed amber. The aroma is redolent with the golding hops. The Flavor is less bitter than I expected from the aroma. It’s a soft Biscoff cookie malt with ample fruitiness. Tasty beer.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ChainGangGuy (3834) - Canton, Georgia, USA - APR 12, 2008
Appearance: Pours a hazy, pale copper body with a small, thin, white head.
Smell: Aroma of spiced pears, peaches, bananas, and fresh, soft wheat.
Taste: Sweetish, light malted wheat. Dash of pear and peach juice, with a slight sourness to it. Tastes of spice and bananas follow and lasts, along with that growing sourness, until the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Soft carbonation.
Drinkability: It’s alright. I dare say I preferred their La Fin du Poulet Saison to this.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 brentfeesh (1191) - Gadsden, Alabama, USA - MAR 25, 2008
Sampler at the brewery. Hazy golden straw colored pour with a frothy white head. The aroma is very light with some fruit and yeast. Very enjoyable flavor but not at all what I would expect from a saison. Earthy spice and straw like grain but no funk at all. The mouth feel is dryish but the overall flavor and mouth feel come out as quenching. I don’t think this is at all a traditional saison but I did enjoy it.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Cybercat (1892) - Georgia, USA - MAR 21, 2008
This beer comes out a really beautiful transparent golden amber. The strong, malty aroma has definite fruit (apple) and citrus components. Flavor is smooth and malty with a good hoppy bite and an undertone redolent of a good white wine. Aftertaste has some bitterness, but it is a good hop bitterness.
