Appearance: opaque dark brown with ruby edges, creamy tan head, sheets of drippy lace,
Aroma: sweet dark caramel and chocolate aroma with a touch of smoke, nice oaky scotch character,
Flavor: dry smokey chocolate flavor, lots of oaky scotch keeps it pretty dry, dark caramel adds back a touch of sweetness, raw sugary sweetness in the background, light bitter finish,

From a firkin at the brewpub on 6/19/08: Pours a transparent dark mahogany brown with an airy tan head. Aroma of dry, lightly roasted peaty dark malts and a touch of smoky complexity and some light smoked fish character. Body starts with a mild touch of dark malty sweetness and a drier roasty character with a nice authentic peaty scotch finish. Nicely balanced and smooth.
