Commercial Description:
Pumpkin beers are a complete pain in the ass to brew - but also a lot of fun I have to admit. I got almost 100 lbs of fresh pumpkins from a local, organic farm. I cut them up, baked them off, and then scooped their flesh directly in the mash tun to a base of Maris Otter and 5 different specialty malts to give the beer a sturdy malt backbone. Traditional pumpkin pie spices were added in the kettle.

Appearance: Pours a hazy caramel-colored body with a thin ring of off-white bubbles. Smell: Aroma of spiced caramel and fresh pumpkin innards. Taste: Rich, sweet caramel malts with a touch of breadiness. Very fresh-tasting pumpkin flavor with a blip of tart fruitiness. Subdued cinnamon spice character and a touch of earthy bitterness. The sweetness gets a second wind and picks back up for the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Very mild carbonation. Drinkability: A very nice pumpkin ale full of flavor and good, wholesome fun.

Nice spicy aroma. Flavor of pumkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Like drinking a glass of spice cake. Good for one beer but not all night. Good seasonal ale. Pass the pecan pie.

Sampler. Pours a dark amber. Small, off white head. Aroma of pumpkin and cinnamon. Flavor is really well balanced. Pumpkin flavors are nice and subtle. Cinnamon and nutmeg spices come through near the end. The finish is slightly bitter. One of the better pumpkin beers I tried this year.

cloudy orange, frothy dirty white head, specks of lace, rich pumpkin aroma with cinamon and other spices, rich malt flavor, lots of pumpkin character, light spices complement rather then overwhelm, nice sweetness comes in and brings out the cinamon,

I enjoyed this on on Halloween. Aroma of pumpkin spice & yummy pumpkin pie. Color is deep copper. Thin amber head. Flavor is good pumpkin (ususally hard to detect), squash flavor in a medium creaminess. Medium bodied. Very flavorful, enjoyable, chewy, and fun.
