CaptainCougar (4633), Rockville, Maryland, USA Dec 10, 2004 Pours a hazy golden bronze with a thick, puffy, and well-lacing white head. Aroma is a nice blend of bready Belgian yeast and sweet caramel malt and candi sugar. Body has a great Belgian malty sweetness with yeasty balance and nice complexity. Very authentically Belgian, especially considering that it’s brewed in GA. There might be a touch too much sweetness in it, but otherwise a very enjoyable tripel.
ChainGangGuy (1523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Aug 9, 2008 Appearance: Opaque, orange-gold body with a small, though sustaining, white head.
Smell: Candied, honeyish maltiness with a big kick of fruit medley and lesser notes of spice and booze.
Taste: Bready maltiness with a full candy and caramel sweetness. Rather tangy fruitiness throughout, tasting of apricots, peaches, and even tropical fruits. Array of spices. Light bitterness. Fruity, drying finish with a light touch of good, clean alcohol.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: A fine, quality tripel jam-packed with fruitiness. unclemattie (1567), Georgia, USA Aug 7, 2008 Tap. Hazy golden. Sweet aroma of fruit. Figs and banana. Sugar and clove. nice Authentic flavor. Belgian notes. shp555 (1376), lilburn, Georgia, USA Jul 9, 2008 Pours a hazy golden color with a white head. Aroma is figs, clove, some banana, sugary, and spicy. Flavor is malty, caramel, spicy, clove, banana, and a bitter warming finish. BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Jun 4, 2008 Pretty tasty, kind of taste like Orval meets Golden Monkey in my opinion. Lots of spicy in the nose, with hints of coriander, and fruitcake, with some bready notes that follow through onto the palate. Very biscuity, with a malt sweetness, but the fruit character stick around and it remains dry throughout the finish. I really enjoyed drinking this. sliffy (1951), Columbus, Ohio, USA Mar 1, 2008 1 Liter bottle shared by moejuck: Pours a clear copper color with a small white head.
