3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Flavor up front is all about the coffee, but minus the charred bitter notes. Additional toasty chocolate and caramel notes play out, and a late soft hop bitterness pulls it together for near perfection.

On tap at the brewpub. Black pour, with a small, tan head and good lacing. Big coffee aroma, milk chocolate, and light molasses. Very sweet flavor. Medium body, syrupy, and chalky. Overall, this is a pretty nice, sticky-sweet stout.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint on tap at 5 Seasons Prado.
Looks perfect: Essentially black in the glass with a large, creamy, dark tan head that leaves plenty of lacing and has good retention. Looks like a notro tap but is not.
Aroma is rather faint for style, particularly the coffee. No burnt or off notes notes. Likewise for the flavor, although a solid coffee note comes through from the finish onwards. A bit sweet, but less so than average for milk stouts, probably due to the coffee.
Outstanding mouthfeel: creamy smooth; medium-light body; perfect and very soft carbonation.

Dark cola brown. Head laces thickly. The coffee is obvious, but the milk stout part a little less so.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Comes out of the tap a beautiful opaque sable with a thick tan head that leaves a lot of lacing. Strong aroma has a mocha overtone, quality coffee plus semi-sweet chocolate and hints of molasses and licorice. Scrumptious flavor has coffee, chocolate and molasses notes, not too sweet, very drinkable. Firm-bodied texture has a pleasant fizz and leaves a tingly mocha finish. Catch it while you can!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: Very dark brown body with a one-third inch of creamy, cafe-colored head. Nicely coating lace on the descent.
Smell: REV-elation smells of roast, cola nuts, bittersweet chocolate, pithy citrus, snappy florals, and scorched cream.
Taste: A start of dark chocolate along with roast, charred nuts, and some sugary caramel. Moderately sweet. Rather light astringency from the roasted grains, but there’s also a notable hop presence here. Floral, citrusy hops. Medium-plus bitterness. Creamy lactose accents housed in the front half only. Final blip of sweetness, then a roasty, hoppy, still fairly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Slight creaminess.
Overall: Stands out among other milk stout with it’s brighter-than-most hop character. Fairly good.
