3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ChainGangGuy (3834) - Canton, USA - JAN 29, 2012
Appearance: Very dark brown body with a one-third inch of creamy, cafe-colored head. Nicely coating lace on the descent.
Smell: REV-elation smells of roast, cola nuts, bittersweet chocolate, pithy citrus, snappy florals, and scorched cream.
Taste: A start of dark chocolate along with roast, charred nuts, and some sugary caramel. Moderately sweet. Rather light astringency from the roasted grains, but there’s also a notable hop presence here. Floral, citrusy hops. Medium-plus bitterness. Creamy lactose accents housed in the front half only. Final blip of sweetness, then a roasty, hoppy, still fairly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Slight creaminess.
Overall: Stands out among other milk stout with it’s brighter-than-most hop character. Fairly good.

Comes out of the tap a beautiful opaque sable with a thick tan head that leaves a lot of lacing. Strong aroma has a mocha overtone, quality coffee plus semi-sweet chocolate and hints of molasses and licorice. Scrumptious flavor has coffee, chocolate and molasses notes, not too sweet, very drinkable. Firm-bodied texture has a pleasant fizz and leaves a tingly mocha finish. Catch it while you can!
