holding steady with the prior release, looks like this one has been tuned in, the hop flavor is taking the forefront with the toned down sweetness, quite tasty but I miss the original that was almost a double IPA

mcc5468 (43), USA Sep 1, 2008 Noce fresh citrus hop smell. Pours a dark amber color. Taste did not disappoint - fresh grass/citrus hop taste. Not overpowering but enough to let you know you are drinking an APA. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Good beer.
BlackDonald (1039), North Carolina, USA Jun 4, 2008 A very distinct floral hop nose, with that ever present citrus in the background. This does not have the depth of flavor that other IPAs have had at this brewery. This one is slightly one-dimensional. A little too agressively hopped, with a malt background that never gets up to snuff, and stays intimidated in the background. unclemattie (1620), Georgia, USA Jan 15, 2008 tap. Light orange/amber color. Rocky white head. Flavor is very sweet and extremely floral. Big hop florals travel way bback on the palate. Citrus aroma. Perfect lacing. Reminds me of Pliney... with less personality MartinT (4373), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jan 14, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Gentle spicy, floral and citrusy hops bloom atop the honeyed maltiness, leading to a calculated wooden hop bitterness for a balanced and highly drinkable IPA.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the misty honeyed gold.
-Orange fruitiness seeps out of the malt and hop union.
-This is surprisingly not that intensely hopped for an American-style IPA.
-This is expertly brewed, but may lack that little dose of personality to distinguish it from the slew of very good IPAs out there.
On tap at the brewpub. KieferUGA (351), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Dec 31, 2007 Draft. Pours a cloudy, golden color. Thin white head. Aroma of citrus. Small amount of lacing. Flavor is a pretty decent balance of caramel malt and citrus hops. Medium bitter finish.
