On tap at the brewpub. Pours a nice ruby-hued brown, with a small, beige head and a bit of lacing. The aroma is white bread, molasses, and light savory spice. Sweet, with just a token effort at bittering to balance, which is actually what I’m looking for in a doppelbock. Medium body, with a slightly grain, clean mouthfeel. Overall, this is a nice, drinkable, and sweet beer. Nothing special, but well made and tasty.

On tap at the pub. Nutty caramel and candi sugar. Baked bread flavors all really good to style. A little more body than what you usually get here so points for that.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 5/5   TASTE 8/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 15/20
Cybercat (3516) - Georgia, USA - APR 13, 2013
Comes out of the tap an opaque chocolate brown with a fairly thick and foamy pale wheat head. Malty aroma has subtle woody and yeasty hints. Robust flavor has malty, cloves, nutty, smoky and woody notes with a touch of yeast. Smooth texture has good fullness and fizz. Overall, darn good. Gimme a high 5 on this one!
