Tap at the brewpub. Dark brown, tan head. Dates, figs, raisins, roasted malt, cocoa powder, some chocolate. A nice blend of sweet and roast.

Comes out of the tap a rich sable with a fine-bubbled, though thin, light tan head. Robust, smoky aroma has malty, licorice, roast coffee and molasses notes of varying strengths. Bold, hearty flavor floods the palate with roast malt, smoked coffee and subtle unsweet chocolate notes. Drinking this is almost like drinking liquid smoke. Firm texture has good thickness and fizz, darned near perfection. If you like a porter that will make your taste buds sit up and take notice, down this one!

On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear light brown with small off-white head. Aromas of coffee, roasted malts, and light chocolate. Flavor is mostly medium roasted malts and coffee with a little caramel in there. Finish bitter and dry. Not much to look at but found this be the best tasting beer of the night.
