Toffee, nutty and caramel notes. A light appealing fresh hops, nutty, lightly caramel character and a medium-dry to dry finish.

Draught, 5% at the brewpub. Coffee aroma. Dark brown colour. Seems hazy. Small tan head. The flavour has a mild coffee note. A bit like instant coffee, not so bitter. Beginning to think this is the coffee porter...

Draft. Pours brown with a beige head. Light roasty aroma, with toast and light coffee. The flavor has lightly toasted malts, and sweet caramel malt. Not bad.

Sampled at the Brewpub with Andrew and Brendan. Pours a hazy brown body with minor lacing. Aroma is very light toast notes. Mouthfeel is thin with notes of light chocolate and nuts.

On tap at 508 w Andy and James. Really deep color for a brown. Chestnut/almond aroma with light, uninteresting lacing. A little watery but not overly nutty on the palate. Subdued, which is a plus since I’m not crazy on the style at this point.

The aroma is chocolate, nuts, slightly roasty. The appearance is mostly opaque brown, tan head. The flavor is again nuts, chocolate, lighly roasty, some toasted malts. The finish is pine hops. Medium in body. Decent.
