A nice dark amber colored beer. There is a good amount of pine and grass on the nose from the hops. Caramel and bread with just a little citrus on the palate, the malt adds a nice backbone to this ale. There is also some yeast present as well.

Sample at the Draught House brewpub. Brownish-amber pour with a medium thin light beige head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Light to medium body with flavors of bready malt, caramel and earthy hops. The finish is short and malty. Decent Altbier overall.

Keg @ Meddlesome Moth, Dallas. Cheers to Ericandersnavy for the pint! Deep brown body with a big, tight off-white head. The nose is fairly neutral, some deep roasted malts, some chocolate and peas. The taste is caramel, some leather, noble hops, strawberry malts and light prickly floral notes. Smooth and quite drinkable, soft carbonation. Overall, an OK beer. I’ve yet to have an alt I love, but this was pretty good.

Dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma of toast, nuts, caramel, and light hops. Taste is malty and a touch spicy with a slight bitterness. Not too sweet. Nice alt. Light-medium bodied.

Tap at The Anvil.
Pours an average amber with a nice white head with a nose of leather bag. Flavor is dusty leather hops. Tingly on the palate. Interesting.

(Draught) Pours a hazy amber-brown body with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, subtle butterscotch, and roasted grain. Flavor of nuts, toasted grain, and grass with a dry, bitter finish.

Brown with a decent head. Mostly malt aroma and flavor with asome softness going on. I’ve been having a fair amount of altbiers lately and finding it’s not really my favorite style.
