I had high expectations for this, as 512 is one of my favorite breweries. I sort of disappointed. Not to say it is bad. It had a nice, but not overpowering hop flavor, but lacked the chocoloate, malty flavor I expect in a brown. It tasted more like a pale ale than a brown. The alcohol content is pretty well hidden too. Still a good beer, just if I want a brown, I’ll probably go with something else.

Tap the Gingerman. The look is brownish red in color with a light tan head. The smell is malts, burnt, and chocolate. The taste is watery, malts, burnt, malts, and eh.

Draft, Ginger Man, Ft. Worth. Creamy mouthfeel, without being thick. Very nice. Smooth roast in the.finish. solid brew.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2012 Draught at ginger man pub in fort worth. The generous amout of alcohol is hidden exceptionally well. Poured a dark brown with a tan head with surperb head retention. Taste, wow!! Caramel malts that transforms into a sweet citrusy fruity flavor then finishes with a slight hop finish. Overall the complexity of this ale is 1 of the best I’ve ever experienced. This brew receives the TizzleJizzle stamp of approval! Go drink this now!

On tap @ Cedar Creek. Pours dark brown with a thin cap of foam. Aroma of figs and chocolate. Taste is light but well balanced, with chocolate, dark fruits, caramel and roasted malt. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel.

Very dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma of roast, figs and chocolate. Taste is the same, roasty and malty with a bit of fruity sweetness. Medium bodied.

Dark brown color with a good sized beige head. Aroma is of figs, caramel, plums and raisins. Taste is of chocolate, slightly roasty, with caramel, figs, plums, candy sugar and malt.

Very sweet with subdued hop character. Reminiscent of a wee heavy or imperial brown in that regards. Some cocoa and brown sugar. Quick finish.
