Fifth anniversary imperial stout

Draft at Flying Saucer. Deep opaque brown color, brown head. Aroma of boozy coffee grounds, licorice, burnt espresso. taste is dry and bitter cocoa, booze. Decent but boozy.

GABF 2014. Viscous and dark black. Dark chocolate and burnt coffee nose. Taste follows, with a lot of ashy character. Would like to have this aged and let more of the savory elements come out.

>> Overcarbonated blacker pour with huge foam. Nose is apple, roast, savory, soy, slight metallic. Taste up front is a bit vegetal, mid is thin and bubbly..pretty ashy. Finish is red apple and a bit harsh. Pretty lively with perhaps a Brett infection.

(750ml ceramic flip top) jet black, very fine dark tan head, clings to the glass. Nose of anise, cocoa nibs, cream, rich, bit of mushroom and metal. Taste of dark chocolate, light ash and cream, slightly bitter but not overly so. Very carbonated, medium body.

On tap at the Saucer. Dark pour with a small brown head. Aroma is plums, raisins, sourness, and booze. Taste is woody, booze, chocolate, and tart fruit.

Tap at FW Saucer. Pours a very dark black color with a tall tan head. Aroma is pretty roasty, almost smoky and dark malts. Flavor has a touch of dark chocolate with a continuation of the roastiness on the nose.

Inky black with a thin khaki head. The nose is very roasty with a touch of licorice with dark cocoa. The taste is really nice and semi-sweet, roasty, cocoa flavors, a touch of smoke, and a bit more sweet black maltiness and roast.
