3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at flying saucer Houston. P hazy chestnut with a soapy white head. Nose is grassy and citrus hoops. Sweet but balanced. Taste is similar with a touch more pine SAP than the nose. Like this beer a lot and understanding why it has been deemed a "staff favorite". Drinkable but complex!

I wrote this from München, while drinking a great Andechs Dopplebock Dunkel, and all I can say is I miss this beer. I am IPA biased so take this in consideration. This beer has the right combination of citrusy hoppiness and aroma. Most drinkable beer I have tasted (again for my taste). There are one-bottle (one-glass) beers that may rate higher in taste, but can you drink three glasses...
Never seen it in bottle so there is your excuse to go to Austin.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very hoppy, sharp grassy and citric hops, some more resiny ones, crisp biscuit malts. Sharp bitterness too, but I dig it a lot, it just works in this American combo, with my smoked bbq meat. (On tap at Stubbs BBQ restaurant Austin)

Dark amber. Lightly syrupy in the West Coast style. Big grapefruit and pine resin flavor. A good IPA. Tap at The Holy Grail.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is one of my favorite readily available IPAs from Austin. 512 makes one of the most reliable out there, wish it was available in cans or bottles. It pours a nice deep golden color, with just enough pine and citrus on the nose. On the palate it is somewhat floral, but the malt is present enough to balance it out. A solid IPA.

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Hay Merchant Houston. I had heard great things about this, but honestly was underwhelmed. It was maltier than I like my IPAs. Not a great aroma. Just ok.

Decided to try a local IPA on draft, this was good. Not too bitter but a nice aftertaste, went down smooth and was a good local beer (was in Houston)
