When I first tried this brew I was expecting hops, this was because in austin there are a lot of hop heads. This one to me is more of an east coast or british style ipa. The hops seem to be different than your normal west coast 4 c hops. Overall a nice representation of what Ipa can be.

Pours a gorgeous, cloudy, glowing burnt orange color with smallish head. Smell is fruity, hoppy and strongly of dried apricot. Taste is fruity, hoppy and big on the dried aprictot flavor. Very flavorful and moderately bittered. Big hop flavor and with less bitterness. Medium to full body with soft to medium carbonation. This is a really well made IPA with big apricot flavor that drinks well. Easily my favorite 512 beer so far. Well done!

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2011 Pours dark amber cloudy and golden. Small head. Aroma is sweet and hoppy. Flavor is malty and hoppy and taste a little mediciny. The taste has some leafy woody notes at the onset.
This is a good fall beer on a cool cloudy, misty day. Body is medium and finish is tart
Rating reflects cask version now.
On cask at the saucer. Copper colored with a large off-white head that lasts as long as it takes me to finish the pint. The nose is bitter resinous hoppy with some pine and bland malt notes. The taste is sweet and bitter hoppy with some citrus. It has a good carbonation and initial pinch but is medium bodied overall. The lace reminds me of fun times. The finish is deliciously a lingering bitter.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hopdog (7037) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 26, 2009
Growler acquired in trade with lb4lb (thanks for answering my call for this one!). Poured a medium and hazy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, and all around floralness. Tastes of citrus, pine, floral, lighlty earthy, and some caramel. Had a lighter sweetness to the bitterness.

Draught > Gingerman. Not very familiar w/ these guys but if their other beers are anything like this guy then we’ll be close friends soon enough. Pretty much a grapefruit bomb which destroyed my tongue so it’s all good in da hood. Tasty! Ready for another.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2011 My first rating of this in April 2010 must have been a less tuned up batch. This amazingly drinkable IPA has now become my favorite Texas session IPA. Pours bright yellow/orange with grapefruit mango nose. Lots of citrus and fruit in this one, with a perfectly lasting bitter finish. It’s not over the top, but is in my opinion, almost the perfect sessionable IPA of all the Texas craft breweries. Drink it fresh on tap and revel in a delicious concoction.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 pineypower (1804) - Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA - OCT 3, 2010
Tap at Gingerman Dallas. Pours out a cloudy dark copper with a two finger off white head. Aroma is of pine, grapefruit, citrus and some light fruity notes. Taste is very complex with notes of nice bitter grapefruit, citrus, light pine and some tropical fruit hiding in there too. Definitely a solid IPA, not what I’d be expecting from Texas.
