Nov 4, 2009 Dark with a thin tan head. Up front roasted hops and pecans. Bit of caramel on the back end. Little aftertaste. Very good beer. A bit thinner than I expect from a porter but very enjoyable.

Oct 27, 2009 22 oz handbottle. Pours an opaque dark brown body with a bit of light passing thru on the edges under a one finger foamy brown head that fell to a thin film. Really great chocolaty nose with some roast and nuttiness, not sure I’d say pecans, but it’s nutty. Some coffee as well. The flavor walks the line between a Nut Brown and a Porter right down the middle. Some roast and coffee with a moderate residual sweetness. Medium bodied with a bit of fizzy carbonation and a little sticky clinginess on the back end. Nice depth of flavor from front to back. A really great Porter, not sure if I would have ever guessed pecans, but it is damn tasty.

Oct 9, 2009 Growler thanks to thirdeye11. Pours with a black body and a tan head that fades. Aroma of roast, coffee and pecan. Taste is pecan and mocha. Pretty straight forward, but good porter. Light bubbles. A lot better use of pecans than Shiner...gawd.

Aug 27, 2009 Uncle Billy’s Brew & Que in Austin. The beer pours a dark brownish-black color with a medium light brown head that dissipates steadily. Patchy lacing on the glass. Light roasted malt aroma with a touch of coffee. Medium, soft body with flavors of malt, milk chocolate and mild coffee. Very little if any nutty character actually. The finish is malty with a light coffee bitterness left behind. Overall a decent Porter, but kind of a head-scratcher as to calling it a Pecan Porter. I know those nuts are expensive but this could have used more.

Aug 5, 2009 JW77 with a growler at cigar city. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is light chcocolate, roasted malt, weak coffee, and some earthy nutiness. Flavor is roasty and light chocolate. I wish I could taste more pecans. But it was still pretty good.

Pours black with beige head, light golden lacing.
Aroma of roasted malts, light pecan nose.
Taste, nutty / pecan with chocolate malts, light abv an palate with some coffee notes in the finish and some faint bitterness.
Very tasty and gets better after a few pints and after it sits outside for a few.
